Great performance, and the golden renaissance for Canada at the IIHF WC continues, 7 of the last 8 finals, taking gold in a respectable 4 of them and silver in 3.

At the World Junior level its much of the same story, complete and utter domination with 7 finals in the last 10 tournaments taking 5 gold and 2 silvers.

Canada is better than it's ever been at the international level, yes the gap has closed a bit but Canada maintains a noticeable gap still.

Congrats to Canada. A few individual mistakes too many in the third that cost you at this level. But still a great tournament by the guys, obviously.

I've been a Habs fan all my life and Stanley Cups are great.

But I only get a little misty about the teams wearing the (red) maple leaf. Yeah yeah yeah, the worlds aren't best-on-best. It's always great to win. I feel so great, by the way, I won't even single out all those guys on these boards saying Canada's roster was so weak they'd be lucky to win a quarter final game.

Well played Germany great tournament for you guys and your fans are all class.

So proud of this team, rag tag group who just gets thrown together and has to make it work every year against well prepared European teams out for blood looking to take them down, but Canada usually gets the job done. This group was no different, way to go boys!!

In the end I'm not sure if it's the winning itself or the fact that we break the hearts of all those fans from all over who hate our guts so bad that is so satisfying to me............but I heavily lean towards the latter.

I know you are bitter that Sweden got knocked out in the QF against Latvia, and that your team greatly underachieved in a tournament Europe cares about. This is your Stanley Cup. Not our Stanley Cup, and we send our D Team to win Gold with Milan Lucic as Alternate Captain (LOL). Milan Lucic has no business being a Alternate Captain for any International Canadian Team.
