Canada Soccer Part VII: Qatar Booked Edition

Luc de Fougerolles is back in training.

Been out since October so thats a good sign.
Funny you say that. I checked their U21 boxscore today and saw he was on the bench. Only 192 U21 minutes all year. A lost season but hopefully he can finish strong.

Another solid weekend for Tani in MLS by the way.

Tany is a man on a mission. He is quickly going up my rankings for next Canadian to leave North America for European pastures.

Decent group. Three decent matchups to keep things competitive but also should be an easy escape if we are on our game at all.
Curaçao is always an interesting game. Some solid players there.

Just looked through there roster and I missed Locadia officially joining them. His career has take an odd turn since being loaned from Brighton to Cinci. Currently playing for Inter City in the third tier of Spanish football.

This guy was once Brighton's record signing lol

I imagine we are a window away from Larin being an off the bench sub for the national team.
Yes - it could be the case. It would be fantastic if another forward stepped up to start and score, allow Larin to be a closer with his excellent defensive play as well as his ability to not panic on the ball.

Someone needs to take that spot from him though. Huge summer coming up with the Canadian Shield and Gold Cup..

Maybe Tani gets a run this summer. I don't think he is the long term solution with David and Jebbison coming up. Tani could be a good stop gap though.

I think it goes to whomever scores and if that is Tani, I am all for it. I would say this is Marsch's forward group though unless there are injuries or a resting of players in the summer.

Russell Rowe and Brym would be next up I would say. Bair is probably not the athlete Marsch desires. Ubgo has completely fallen off at Wednesday..

Yeah I keep forgetting about Russel Rowe. Scores goals for fun but can't seem to take hold of a National Team spot. At 22 he has plenty of time to keep growing.

I've always been mid on Brym. Flashes of a really good player but inconsistent.

Ugbo is such a shame....

Promise David cannot stop scoring. On the board against Anderlecht today.

Noting that Eustaquio is playing central defense for Porto again today

Worth noting that Khadim Kane scored his firs pro-goal for Forge.

Usually a CM, played RB today and bagged the goal. 19 years old and coming through the Montreal youth academy with a Sigma loan along the way.

Halifax at York shortly.

Jimoh and Altobelli on the bench for York. Ferrazzo and Ferrin face their old team.

Commentator nightmare with Ferrazzo, Ferrin and Ferrari.

Halifax showing a back 3 with wingbacks.

Wanderers concede first but then score two second half goals to win. That is so huge for this team that is prone to slow starts and never winning on the road.
