Canada Soccer Part VII: Qatar Booked Edition

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Choiniere had himself a game. Much needed for him and the program. He was a steady Eddie tonight.

And I know it's 2025, but I can't stay mad at the ref.
Choniere was everywhere. Creating double teams to get the ball back, covering more ground than Stach does these days. Doesn't have the same passing range ... He also launched some pretty good balls into the box on corners.

Anyone else not convinced by St Clair in goal?
Jury is still out. A guy that athletic and long.. expectations are sky high. He is decent with tha ball at his feet, hasn't seem to struggle with crosses. He did make a big save on Luna.. We still need more though if we are going to win these big games.

Crepeau has to get his net back in Portland or he can forget it. McGill is just a baby. So the Great Dayne is it right now. He's been good for Minnesota.

Davies agent saying that he was pressured into starting the game against the US and that it was planned he wasn't going to start.

I like Davies but he’s injury prone. If you’re a coach it’d probably be tough to tell if he’s just playing through one of his usual nagging minor injuries or if it’s something more serious.

Not sure if this a hot take, but ever since the World Cup Qualifiers, I think Canada has played better without Davies in the lineup than with him in it.

Obviously you want your best player available, but I think he tries to do too much to take over the game and it's to the detriment of the team sometimes

Stupid logic. It's not like he came into the game with a partially torn ACL that got worse. He played 10 minutes and blew his knee out in a fluke injury. Maybe his agent would be happier if he had come in as a sub in the 75th minute and had the same thing happen.

Canada has two soccer players, the player had said he did not feel like playing, at least from the kick-off. A match without any value. Terrible management. After all, the problem is not yours but Bayern's. The stupid logic was that of Marsh, who instead of safeguarding one of his two best players preferred to try to win, evidently, a useless match. I imagine only because it was against the USA.

So based on your thinking national teams should keep players out of games because they might get injured??? Why have the world cup then?
And in this case AD was injured at the 10 minute mark. He could have come into the game in the 75th minute and still got injured.
And one more point. Canada has more than "2" players.

I'll try again, THE PLAYER said he wasn't able to play, that's not my opinion, it's not hard to understand. The coach decided to let him play and the result was seen almost immediately.

Do we want to make 3 with maybe Eustachio? But in any case I would treat the only real star of the team better.
