Can we talk about how bad ESPN’s Game presentation has been during the playoffs?

That little prune man playbyplay guy they have, mcdonahue or whatever, is horrible. I hope TNT has the finals because id rather hear eddie-o mouth-farting into the mic than that leprechaun dbag.

Looks like the lil dude from Island of Dr Moreau

There is a reason McDonough has had a tremendous career and you're just a loser taking cheap shots on the internet. It's called talent, which you don't have any of.

TNT has been very good. Have a nice pregame show and postgame show. Yesterday's game had like an hour show I believe. Unless that has been the norm? Also like the panel as well.

ESPN is like they are doing us all a favor by just airing the games. It's a shame I do like some of the broadcasters.

If the "game presentation" means this much to you, you really need to focus on the game.
There was an example in the Canes series of an offensive zone whistle that the commentators completely ignored, the camera randomly zoomed into some player's face for 20 seconds while they talk about some random nothing play from like 3 minutes earlier, then finally cut back to play after the puck was dropped. I still don't know why there was a whistle -- obvious assumption is hand pass or high stick, etc. and it doesn't matter all that much but still just a completely unprofessional garbage production. I want to just focus on the game, the production doesn't let me just do that all the time.

Edit: I know that's TNT not ESPN but to me they are all the same and equally bad. Quality of almost all goods and services has gone down in recent years.

I'd still take NBC and ESPN over CBC/SN.

If they worked on their commentators and maybe intermission commentators they'd be fine.
Sportsnet is better for playoffs, but regular season has been pretty bad for some years now.

There was a time where the intermissions had meaning, but now they've just become a time for me to do some chores around the house.

I love Subban in the studio but they give him Messier to work off of, and he's as charismatic as a plank of wood. He needs a better foil desperately.

ESPN's announcing crews are decent at best. I actually don't hate Buccigross but he's not at the level of some of the sport's finest. None of their crews are.

I think that they are doing the bare minimum and that seems to be a more positive outlook than most online hockey fans. If I'm the positive outlier, then they need to take improvement seriously.

ESPN started sucking when their a broadcasters started thinking they were sports stars. 15-20 years ago. Only watch when my teams are on. Despise it.
