Can we talk about how bad ESPN’s Game presentation has been during the playoffs?

ESPN has bad presentation, but cutting away from handshakes isn’t one of them. In most cases it is to get to another game, which is more important.

Also as for a quick cutaway from a game, today was on ABC and they have to get affiliates for the 6pm as close as possible on time. Part of the broadcast business and difference between broadcast a cable. Games actually on ESPN usually go to a Sportscenter postgame afterwards.

That little prune man playbyplay guy they have, mcdonahue or whatever, is horrible. I hope TNT has the finals because id rather hear eddie-o mouth-farting into the mic than that leprechaun dbag.

Looks like the lil dude from Island of Dr Moreau

NHL - Viewership numbers are down

Me - Points to ESPN

I do this when they claim internet and streaming are why they’re losing money- bro, your product has been trash for 20 years, its management not the market.

Used to love sportscenter, Stuart Scott was great, but then they made everybody like him. Then everybody was just talkin, and there weren’t even sports no more.

A few years back I flipped through 3 different ESPN stations and found Stephen A. Smith somehow on all of ‘em.

Anyway, the production issues are what get me. The cuts to commercial midplay, the reverb on the announcers, the dimming of crowd noise.

Hockey was a joke and an afterthought when ESPN mattered.

It still is, even though now ESPN is a joke and an afterthought itself.

Maybe the NHL should focus on why it is a joke to every network that carries it in the United States so I never have to read one of these complaint threads ever again as long as I live.

And instead of a postgame show, they go straight to Scott Van Pelt kissing the ass of some basketball player. It’s insane to me how vast the difference in quality is between ESPN and TNT. Every night I’m hoping the game is on TNT and it’s extreme disappointment when I find out it’s not.

If the "game presentation" means this much to you, you really need to focus on the game.
Their schtick actively detracts from the broadcast even when on mute.

ESPN picked up the Caps-Blackhawks game a couple years ago when Ovi was about to tie Howe.. Ovi scored 20 secs into the game and many people missed it because ESPN cut away from the game to show some terrible prerecorded clip of Chelios reading Chicago’s lineup in their locker room

ESPN ended up having to scrub the internet of their own clip of goal #801 because they botched it so badly.

TNT is also horrible

- Missing end of series hand shake lines repeatedly
- Cutting so fast at the end of a game to a commercial it makes your head spin.

I know you all have more so put em below.

It’s like they have short attention span NBA people running the the show behind the camera.
Add to that their insistence on putting those ridiculous name tags on players during powerplays.

It's nice to know that Leon Draisaitl has the puck in front of the net, but not if you can't see the goal or the puck.
