Is this allowed? I am looking to buy a knock off jersey hoodie (I'll be damned if I am spending $200 on that). Am I allowed to talk about a specific website or would that get me banned? I'd really like to know if someone used this specific website that has a really decent knock off for like $50

DH gate jerseys are better quality than fanatics. I’ve bought 5-6 off of them now.

Sometimes, they are actual jerseys that are sold in the US and Canada. In my travels I talked to a guy who works with a textile company (not for them) somewhere in Asia that produces them for Fanatics or did for Adidas too (something like that) and there’s an entire economy within those companies of selling on DHGate. The same happens with the “middle man” distributors. They make more money per item that way than from their contracts with the big rights holders. He mentioned that there are a lot of fakes, but if you know what you’re looking for, you may find the real thing. He also mentioned that workers will make the jerseys on the side because they know how and have a side hustle. This is often where your fakes actually come from if they are close to the real thing.

He was able to show me an Ajax jersey on there for $19 that he said was “definitely the genuine article”.

Either way, fascinating conversation that was started from an off the cuff comment about the prices of sports jerseys in the US compared with Europe, which I mentioned was still too high.

Buying counterfeit jersey is not illegal, selling them probably is but not buying them. Its similar to buying pirated DVDs, only becomes illegal if you are distributing the copy and profitting off of it.

Generally speaking i bet they can when next to a real one. All the fakes use the same bubbly crest material and numbers. The colours dont match and the shapes of yokes/stripes dont match the real ones. Even brand new the fakes looks like they’ve been crumpled in the bottom of the closet for a while.

I got a fanatics Canucks jersey that was blank for $30 off sportscheck sales. Then in blackfriday i got the classic black Canucks skate jersey for $130 CDN. People should probably search around and they can eventually buy one for way cheaper. Fake ones for hockey is not good due to cheap quality. I have a fanatics and adidas ones and both are great quality. Dont buy fake ones for $50 because it probably wont last much.

Soccer jerseys are a whole different thing, they change up the jerseys every year and there are tons of unsold product that gets recycled back into the machine.

And even the authentic soccer jersey use cheap manufacturing techniques and heat pressed numbers/logos.

Not comparable to hockey jerseys in anyway regarding looks or scale.

Fanatics having a monopoly on the sports jersey market in North America is absolutely a joke, but they dont manufacture the actual jerseys, not the real ones anyway. They are still made by the same company that has made NHL jerseys for CCM, Reebok and Adidas since the 80s. I’m also pretty sure the Fanatic premium are made in the same factory that made adidas jerseys. The breakaway jerseys are the joke.

I agree, i have fake and authentic soccer jerseys and the difference in quality is not much while they look very identical. Hockey jerseys are very different because the authentic ones are made to last and are made with top quality material and logo stitched on. They are worth the price compared to a authentic soccer jersey that goes for $100 and is like a T shirt

We ordered Orioles Jerseys for our ball team like 12 years ago, they all came in kids sizes. We had to re-order them and then we all gave our kids jersey to children around the ball park

They looked pretty decent though all things considered.

I have one hockey jersey which is a Ray Bourque late 80's style Bruins jersey that looks pretty damn good. You can tell it's a fake, but it's not glaring. It was like $40 so f*** it.

A friend of mine ordered a bunch of Jagr jerseys from different teams and half of them came in the completely wrong color scheme. The Capitals jersey was in Orange and White like the Flames, haha.
