Absurd that there are STILL a ton of people out there who think other teams will watch the Josh Brown clip and react with fear. What is actually happening is they watch that clip and think 'hey, we can goad this moron into costing his team the game.'

By far my favorite thing about Knoblach is how he has instilled a culture into this team of beating other teams on the scoreboard.

Thankfully the last time we play that group of clowns this year.

No risk of seeing them in the Conference Final, they’ll take their annual loss in 5 or 6 games to the Stars, Avalanche or Jets in the first round.
The way they've been playing recently, they aren't even a lock to make it. I know injuries are a part of that, but its a tight enough race on the back end that the Wild need to really turn around their losing ways.

The thought process that not holding someone accountable because it may not stop them from doing it again is baffling to me.

@oXo Cube I agree with what you are saying about that situation, the issue is the way Brown did it. Should have waited until we were up then pounded Hartman. No invitation. If he is not here for that, then why is he in this team?

On mcdavid having to protect himself. Maybe if the refs called the rules of the game he wouldn’t have to make sure he doesn’t get injured every game. Mcdavid was skating without the puck and the wild player obstructs his movement. I’d get my elbows up to as it’s clear the refs aren’t calling the game.
It's sad but the reality is that McDavid and Draisaitl will need to turn into goons to protect themselves.

Let's be honest for a sec, Leon has been a goon the whole time lol.

Granted it's actually been a minute since he's speared somebody for no reason.
He is a lowkey dirty player. But he still finds himself on the wrong end of slewfoots, sting swings, and other potentially injurious plays. Maybe he needs to be a bigger asshole?

Or maybe, and hear me out here,

What if being known for this doesn't deter the other team at all, but actually encourages more of this behaviour in attempt to illicit a poorly timed response?

Disclaimer: not that I really mind it that much in this specific context

Back to back games the two best players in the league are lucky to escape serious injury. Both times refs are looking right at the play. Meanwhile Gary is laughing from his couch. Just when I thought it was impossible to hate this league even more, they prove me wrong.

Moments before:

I just wanna say something about McDavid, because a lot of dorks who never watch the greatest player alive have no idea wtf they’re talking about.

Yeah, he got away with a lightning fast elbow. Good. Do it again. IDGAF. He’s been in the league 10 years, we’ve seen well over a thousand non calls on him by now, maybe 2,000. Dozens of dangerous attempts to injure. We just had McDavid and Drai slewfooted in back to back games.

Refs don’t do their jobs, goons are dead. It’s up to the stars to police and bully the opposition back. Don’t like it? ENFORCE THE RULES. PROTECT THE SUPERSTARS.

More elbows god damn it. f*** the league

I've said many times before. Going to a 2 ref system sent the system into serious decline.

Expansion has not only meant a shortage of players but a shortage of capable refs. There doesn't seem to be enough to go around.

Who knows what to make of the reffing. I think it’s more about the NHL mandate (game management, business etc) than the actual refs.

I mean the playoffs come and the refs that are assigned aren’t exactly the good refs that people want.

It’s not for no reason. Pretty sure everytime it happened it was in response to a dirty play that happened to him and was ignored by the refs.

Rich to hear the Wild complaining about McDavids "phantom elbow" on Johansson last night when they have one of the biggest goofs in the league on their own roster.

Don't say that to the mains. If anything, they have people who think Hartman's kick/slewfoot on Draisaitl was meant for trying to get the puck in the McDavid thread. Same old shit from those mouthbreathers lmao.

Keith elbowed and concussed Sedin, Sedin missed playoff games, on way to a Hawks Cup.

Hedman destroyed Gally in the SCFs with a cross check to the face rendering him ineffective for that series, on way to a Bolts Cup.

Pietro tried to chop Drais arm off, on way to a Knights Cup.

MacKinnon slew footed an already injured Draisaitl, on way to an Avs Cup.

Tkachuk headlocked and punched McDavid 5 times in the face, on way to an Panthers Cup.

Seeing a pattern? Superstars making dirty plays to win at all costs. The unfortunate truth is that with the NHLs incompetent reffing, if you ain’t playing dirty to win, you’re not doing everything you can to win.

So yes I agree with you. Our stars need to bring the Dirt. And I hope to see it in the playoffs, cause you know the dirt is coming their way.

This is it. I doubt people can find many, or any, examples of McDrai being dirty in their first 2-3 seasons. They got sick of it. Lucic, Maroon, whoever we had didn’t actually deter anyone because of the instigator changes. Nobody protects these guys and eventually they took it into their own hands.

It’s just the natural reaction and I fully support it.

Yup. They realized they needed to start fighting back after years of abuse.

People must forget mcdavid breaking his collarbone as a rookie due to a cheap shot. Or Giordano almost destroying his knee, I think in the final game of the season too… the league has no respect, so eventually you show them no respect. Other guys like Tkachuk were dirty cheap shot artists right out of the box as teenagers, it’s different with McDrai 100%.

An injury to these guys could cost them tens of millions too. And we saw Hall, Ebs and RNH get bullied hard for years. I’m glad they don’t just take it anymore.
