Yeah, STFU Middleton. How about you look at your buddy Hartman who injured Bouchard last time both teams met and him slewfooting Draisaitl tonight. Cry more, f***ing p***y.

Russo, like many sports media guys, decided at some point a few years ago that becoming an abject homer earns him more views than being professional. He constantly whines with the best of them now.

Man, I found myself rooting for J Brown after he took that penalty and the Wild scored. I'm glad he got a point.

The problem with the wild playing at 110% all year long, is when other teams ramp it up in the playoffs, the Wild have no where to go.
Turn it to 11 ;)

Spinal Tap reference. heh

But yeah. Its why a lot of clubs don't get traction in playoffs. The Wild played this game with playoff intensity. That said their lineup gets better when they are healthy so you never know. I wouldn't count them out as much this season. Similarly the Jets. Gonna be hard to come out of that conference this playoffs. Hardest conference in the league as far as multiple top teams. Jets, Stars, Wild, Colorado is some kind of hard division.

Teams that are locks for playoffs seem to coast through the regular season.

We saw it regularly with the penguins.

Does Pimplesil play for Calgary?

She should be okay with dirty hits.

Besides that bad penalty he held up pretty well, bent but didn’t break. They definitely wanted to test him tonight with the minutes and deployment.
He was out with 2 minutes left too. I'm not sure I'd want him on the ice in a playoff game at this point, but maybe he'll get there.

What a sad, pathetic waste of flesh

How that CPPuck inbred looks like in RL.

Although one must suffer through Bissonette speaking regularly, the TNT intermission and post-game panel with Gretzky and Bowness is good. They understand the pressure and scrutiny that comes with being a great player. They breakdown McDavid and Draisaitl's game better than most analysts.

88, 89, 90 Oilers teams did that as well. They were sleepers. Doesn't make sense to go all in during regular season.

Boston was another example of this several times in recent seasons. Canes another.

I think Colorado are hanging around in the weeds this season but nobody should want to face them either in first two rounds. LA does this too. Play hard regular season and run right out of gas.

But we get David Amber saying Bedard should be on team canada!

They are an unfinished product. Really good young core percolating. Have to get through the Suter Parise cap handcuffs and then they will continue to add pieces. Big, greasy skill. Will be a handful in couple years

I think LA’s problem was also partially McLellan. Will see if its any different with Hiller but it looks more or less the same. Getting through the Oilers and Knights isn’t very easy though.

This was a fun game. The team didn’t have their best stuff again to start the game but they gutted it out, weren’t afraid to get dirty and and did what they needed to do to come back and win the game. It was an ugly one too with plenty of liberties taken by both teams. Pickard did exactly what we’ve been begging a goalie to do here forever by playing well enough to give the team a chance to stay in the game when they forgot to start on time.

Yeah. Like I said in GDT I think the Wild are still the best at this, but while Hines has reigned in the leash somewhat. Wild playing more for structure now while still bringing the physical play when the situation permits. I do miss this kind of NHL where it was much more physical. In some way analytics has tamed hockey a bit. So many of the coaches now that believe hits just take you out of position and ought to be avoided.

This game was damned entertaining and one of the reasons why was that ice was actually contested. So many games in the NHL now where you can have your head down or dance around making plays. used to get leveled doing that sort of thing. I kind of think theres room for more NHL clubs to bring this hard on pucks type of game the Wild bring.

tbh The Oilers are so good right now some of the games are boring. A unique and great problem to have but like the 80's sometimes your just happy to see the few games where an opponent can even play well against us. Not many good teams in the league this year so its seemed like a rare event to have this kind of well competed game.
With you, I miss 80's high skill, tough and physical hockey. Admire the skill of modern NHL but the no-hitter game is a very important ingredient that's missing. Wild GM is building a damn hard team in his image. Evason infused the release the hounds execution on ice. Can't stand the Wild but respect how they are building their club

Hope someone replies with that Hartman leg trip on Drai to make him look like a proper dummie.

I still don't know how Hiller is an NHL coach. I would be bleating about him if we had him. Don't think he's much.

This as well I noticed the Wild were playing the pk diamond against the Oilers tonight and I notice often this hardly ever works against our PP. Even in thought of where we score from this is nuts to employ against us. Hiller never switched from it even though we were murdering it and it took what 30secs for us to score on our one PP tonight?

I don't get how the pk Diamond is supposed to work againt a club that brings the HDSC downlow as much as we do on PP. Gee stick with a box.

No, Rejean is a female. Don't know what's wrong with her but she really is something special.
Whoops. Nod a cuddly female apparently.

What kind of hick name is Rejean for a female? Its a guy name. heh

What a lot of loathing in anycase.

I think its possible the Oilers could be in her head.
