Shit happens, did you say the same when the Lightning lost to Arizona?

The reality here is that if you switch Cooper and Keefe, the Leafs would win.
That’s bc Cooper got balls, lol.

For real, if the playoffs start tomorrow, I don’t like TB chances with the way they are playing.

Tampa knows how to become a cohesive unit and then Vasi is the finishing touch to shut you down. And their depth can actually score

Our swappable lawn chair "dunno wtf I'm doing " approach has us not even ready to take on lottery teams without getting smashed because the team is so out of sync.

Typical Dubas Era Leafs. I will be shocked if we look fluid in round 1 especially with Chief Keefe at the helm

Tampa gamr against bottom 7

Tampa 25-20-3

Toronto vs bottom 7

Goal against 2.93

Rest of nhl

team, the team who playing 0.500 against bottom 7 but outplayed rest of the league
Or
The team who outplayed bottom 7 and played close of 0.500 against rest of NHL

Tampa are the only team in the league who legitimately have that ability to flip the switch come playoff time. I want to believe that all these games over the years will finally take its toll on that group and this time we'll get it done.

But I also expect nothing out of this core, so I'll go with a coin flip.

Sens need to win wild card and need a D: Add Chychrun

Using logic Cup < Wild card because we needed a D too and added (only) almost 30 non dynamic Jake McCabe

Question should be "Do we want to beat Tampa"

Well, it looks like TB doesn't want home ice either. They're about to lose another game. 5-0 to Carolina with 6 minutes to go. So, yeah, I think we can beat them, but gotta do something about Matthews and Rielly. Both have been terrible.

4 shots in the 1st period & no shots in the 2nd.
Now losing 6-0.
Kucherov & Hedman hurt although Kuch came back later.

Holly crap, I just looked up the standings, the f-ing Bruins are on a 10 win streak fcol!
The Canes vs. Bruins clash should be fun to watch.

If mathews isn't our best player in the playoffs.
Morgan needs to us his speed like 3 yrs ago.

Not worried about
Mitch
Nylander
JT
ORielly when he gets back in the lineup

Tampa got smoked today and got smoked by Florida.

I think obviously we hope ROR is gonna be okay by the time the playoffs roll around but we have a lot of change that has happened in the last while.

The next few weeks is basically training camp.

The only thing the coach needs to do is sit Holl, that can't be the hill he dies on. Rielly has looked way better whenever not paired with him. I take Brodie, Liljegren and Schenn over Holl.

(I don't care if you take Holl over them, it's my opinion)

Build the chemistry in time for the playoffs, that's it, oh and stay healthy.

Sitting Holl or at least make him understand that he is the bottoming pairing Dmen that’s not expected to jump in.

Figuring out who to play with AM is the key.
Really like the Bunting and Lafferty line, will try JT there if I am Keefe.
Let Willie be on his line with Kerfoot and Calle/Holmberg.
Keep AM and MM together with Calle/Holmberg or Reilly. Just tell Reilly to take one for the team and be a LW.

Good point but confuses the f*** out of me still lol.

Why they play down to their opponen... just odd.

It's worrisome like when like the Leafs are up big in the 3rd and let off the gas. This team just needs to learn to f***ing kill to put it bluntly. No mercy in the playoffs.

If I'm playing a sport and I was that f***ing talented... when I go out there I leave it all out there. Do every thing you could ever do to win.

Can you imagine winning a cup in Toronto. You're a f***ing legend forever. You're a 4th liner and you're eating free at your favourite restaurant until you die.

I have zero say in this but just my 2 cents...

Bunting-Matthews-88
JT-ROR-Marner
Kerfoot-Kampf-Lafferty
Knies-Acciari-Jarnkrok

OR

Bunting-Matthews-88
Jarnkrok-JT-Marner
Knies-ROR-Lafferty
Kerfoot-Kampf-Acciari

McCabe-Brodie
Rielly-Schenn
Gio-Liljegren

Mix bottom 4 D when needed

I would have preferred Rielly-Liljegren as Rielly's stats are the best with him but I don't think I like the Gio-Schenn pairing foot speed.

This would make a good debate. Great question.

Tampa kinda reminds me of where the Raptors were at in the playoff bubble. They were not the same championship team but I trust they’ll still have the championship fiber to put up a hell of a fight even if they don’t have the legs they used to.

Toronto’s mental make up is a complete mystery box. I like the support cast but the core could crap the bed in new and spectacular ways. They just don’t have winning DNA.

Put another way. Tampa can’t win forever. But Toronto could keep losing forever.

As long as Holl is not on the ice, I am good.

The top 9 forwards will be interesting actually it all depends on AM.
If ROR is the go to shut down line, I want Calle and MM with him. Have JT play with Lafferty and Kerfoot/Bunting as the 3rd line to feast on lesser competition.

That is easy. You aren't playing Columbus in the 1st round this year. I will take the team that rises to the competition....even if they make me want to slam my head against a wall once or twice a week.

This is not the same Tampa Bay team as last year. They've lost some important players and right now they're in a tailspin, have a few injuries to deal with and their stars aren't playing at their best.

Most of that could change by the time the playoffs start, but there really is no excuse for the Leafs to fall again. They are the better team and despite a couple of bad efforts with the new lineup (please tell Keefe to stop this 7-D experiment?), I think we should be confident that the Leafs tendency to get motivated for tough opponents will hold up and they'll come out swinging in game 1 (and hopefully in games 2, 3, 4...).

Still would be a nervous wreck if it gets to a 7th game again, but hopefully the Leafs can find a way to put the Bolts away relatively quickly and not give them any opportunity to get into Toronto players' heads.

Given my pessimism with this group, I still wouldn't bet on it, but really, no excuses. None.

The only way to beat Tampa is if the core( including Rielly) plays to their potential. They have to show leadership, and take care of business at both ends so the new supporting cast can feel like they don't have to do too much and get out of their strengths.

4th line just needs to wear down Tampa's D and let the forwards know there will be no quarters asked and none given.

If Schenn or Holl is in they have to just make smart, safe plays and clear the net.

Depending on who the third line is, they will neec to control play,, chip in a little and make sure they don't lose their matchups.
