I would be pretty confident if we could land Luongo. Or if Reimer returns to his rookie-season form. I highly doubt that will happen though.

Leafs can make a good run here

We always play good first the past 2 seasons...well now this is the first half. If we can get around 32-35 and some confidence, we can not only make the playoffs but make a run to the cup

Thoughts?

I don't think the Leafs have always been good first half performers, but I know the last couple of seasons have been pretty good.

I think theres about a 50/50 shot with this current crew. Goaltending will make or break this team though..

Speaking of that, should we expect a lot of player movement in such a short period of time? I think it's going to be a case of what we see with the rosters right now is what we get.

through 48 games last season they were a playoff team. They can do it. But obviously, there's going to be a ton of moves in the NHl soon, so it's very hard to judge.

Other than Columbus, it's hard to not think any team can make the playoffs.

i was thinking the exact same thing. maybe some have some deals already made and were just waiting for the lockout to end.

I am pretty confident that Burke will land Luongo. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised that a deal is announced as soon as the CBA is officially ratified. Just my gut feeling.

I don't agree. I think they'll be quite a few moves. After the last lockout there was. Yes, we didn't lose a full season, but I still expect big moves from many teams.

I fully expect Perry/Getzlaf to be traded.

They came out strong the past 2 seasons but before that we were known to come out weak and finally come on once we were eliminated. I think it was 3 seasons ago, we didn't get our first "W" until November!

I'd expect there to be more movement than what we normally see during training camp, but not too much more.

Last season was the only time post lockout we've had a good first half. It's usually February/March they play great.

I hope you're right :)

Are we going to see what we see every year? The same 8 teams make it as last year when people do their predictions?

I actually like the Islanders to make it. Tampa will be much better. The Devils, imo, are out.
