Habs really have an abundance of impressive blue liners in the system but who is going to be the shutdown or two-way stud? Guhle, Reinbacher, Hutson, Mailloux all seem like PP guys. Only Reinbacher projects to be a two-way difference maker and that remains uncertain.

Who cares about the stats this year. Our roster is awful. We have no #1C, no #1D, no #1W. No #2D. We have a #2C, but he's our #1C, we don't have a #2C for our 2nd line. The shortest player in the NHL is our best player. After our best players(who are all playing over their heads), our depth is full of busts, AHLers or prospects. We have no star player to make up for it. Hopefully Demidov turns into a 100 point scorer like every other russian Kaprizov, Kucherov, Panarin, that would knock Caufield down to line 2 and would turn Suzuki into either Caufield's 2nd line center or Demidov's support C, would really fix a lot of problems, but there's a 50% chance he turns into Drouin or Ehlers, which wouldn't move the needle at all.

Unless he turns out to be just as good as Makar and Hughes, our team is worse now than it was last year because we replaced Kovacevic with Hutson. We now have, unfortunately, two offensive defensemen and an enforcer on our D-line. Every D pair we put out puts us in danger of getting scored on, 60 straight minutes of no defense every game. We have successfully copied the Sabres and Senators' tank formula from the past few years. Which is good because our future #1D might have just busted thanks to his injury so now we need to lose until we find a new one..set us back 2 years + however long it takes to draft a new one.

Guhle is a top 2 two way defender. Reinbacher should be. Engstrom, Struble should be solid defrensivley.

MSL needs a defensive system coach and a PP coach. If he doesn't like it, bye bye....

The problem then becomes politics of getting rid a Quebecois coach, which needs a Quebecois replacement.

Guhle is already a two way stud who play again the best each day and he's not used on the pp by MSL. To stay in topic, no, I don't think MSL have what it take to make them take the next step.

No. As with almost all rebuilding clubs the coach during the rebuild will be replaced with a guy who forces players to not cheat for points.
