Can Elias Pettersson get back to 100 point form if he gains more muscle this summer?

If he trains this summer and gains muscle mass, I think he would be that much better and could get back to 100pts. He's already pretty strong but hes not living up to his potential and is dominated physically by larger players. When he's got confidence he's one of the best players in the league. Unfortunately his confidence can be fragile.
What do you think?

I mean only 6 players hit 100 points this year.

He should rebound to at least ~PPG if he's relatively healthy moving forward. He's too talented not too, imo.

Really depends on his linemates.

Assume an the unlikely scenario where the Canucks get Marner.
Consider the likely scenario where the Canucks get... Jamie Benn?
Probably 30-40 point swing on Pettersson's season.
I don't think he's getting there next season* unless the Canucks make a big acquisition at forward. He needs a bud.

I doubt it. In any case it won't happen in Vancouver. He needs a change of scenery more than anyone in the league.
What's extra hilarious is Vancouver threatened him with a change of scenery, to get him to "cave" on his contract demands. This contract is supposed to be a f***ing discount lmao. I said it at the time too, he's a cancer that Vancouver would be better off getting what they can for him and moving on.

To answer the OP, not a chance. The 100 point year was the anomaly.

I wouldn't trust a mentally fragile athlete to get it together.
Gains on his brain muscles

He's played at 100 point pace once out of 7 seasons, gonna go with no, chief.

Yeah 100 points is probably out of the question, unless everything goes right, but a 90 point season with elite defense would be more inform for him.

It’s his skating he needs to get back more than anything. He used to have elite speed/acceleration, but he was slow all year. Couldn’t create separation. If he can get his skating back, he’ll be a PPG+ player. 100 would probably depend on how the roster gets built around him/chemistry/variance

I think he’ll take this offseason seriously and have a bounce back year, but it’s gonna take more than that to hit 100 points again. This question is as much about the Canucks FO as it is about EP40.

I’m gonna say he hits 100 again at some point in his career, but it won’t be next year. Although I think he’ll get closer than people think, and as an aside I think we see Vancouver back in the playoffs next year.

He isn't/wasnt as good as people think/thought he is/was.

As a Canucks fan I never got it when I saw people talking like he was this amazing player. Like, he's pretty good, like a barzal, but never saw him as a good franchise leading type forward.

I personally think its not necessarily his muscle mass that is holding him back. We have seen him even skinnier and still dominate. His mental fragility and perhaps off ice distractions hindered him significantly this season. He seemed like a totally different player. He has always been a insanely smart player who makes the right play instantaneously and decisively. This year hes timid to shoot , inability to make a play, bobbled many pucks even seemingly lost a step. I'm confident he will bounce back next year to what extent however is the real question for me.
