As a Hokies fan, am I certain that was a catch? No. Did I see enough to overturn the call on the field no matter what it had been? No. Total bullshit.
Granted, the horrific clock management in the two minute drive put them in position to need a miracle and hope to not get robbed. I love a lot about what Pry tried to do with this program but man is it getting tough to support him.

VT gave the game away. They shouldn’t have left it in the refs hands who would easily protect a top team in an irrelevant conference
I saw multiple replays and photos. It was clearly an incompletion; the ball never was completely under control. But none of that mattered as soon as the Miami player touched the ball while lying out of bounds. That immediately ends the play. And hey, I'd have loved to see the upset, but the refs didn't do anything but cause a needless delay in the final outcome.

This was clearly a "rating" decision by the replay officials. would they allow thier clear cut conference favorite team get upset and drop from the 5 slot in the ratings by being upset? Or would they overturn the call on the field to preserve those. national rankings for the conference?

There was not enough evidence on the replay to overturn the call of a catch. And if. the officials had ruled it. was incomplete, I would have said there was no evidence to overturn the call of incomplete.
