I'm a bit worried, but feeling a little better that he will get through. Anyone that claims him essentially he is saying he is better than our current back up, because he will have to be on their roster for 30 days, and then he would have to clear waivers again to be sent down. His lack of NHL experience would be a big gamble for any team.

I'm only hoping there's enough G depth around the league that no one else steals YET ANOTHER Kings-coached goaltender, but it's a pattern.

Someone may take Auger as a project too, but probably not before Parenteau

I am legit worried about losing Campbell, but if he does get taken, I will be very happy for him. He started out in an organization who is terrible with developing goalies, was on tbeouts, and turned it around to make the NHL.

I'm really rooting for him.

Is it harsh that I hope Kuemper fails or plays poorly? I really want to see Campbell make it.

I think it's harsh. Kuemper is on the Kings. Hoping he does poorly means you hope the Kings have problems.

I really wanted the Kings to waive Kuemper, but it can't be undone. I just hope Campbell goes unclaimed, he continues to succeed, and then he comes up in case of an emergency or he wins the backup spot next year.

Unless you're Campbell's mom, it's not harsh, it just doesn't make sense.
I always felt that the Kuemper signing was a slap to the face of Campbell. He put in the work, was an All-Star in the A last season, and rebounded from his time in Dallas. If LA wanted an experienced back-up for Quick they should of just stuck with Zatkoff. Kuemper was just as bad if not worse than him last year.

Your not the first to post this myth, I have no idea where it comes from. It is not true. You can turn around and waive the player the very next day if you would like. You are right that he would need waivers to head down to AHL with new team. In that case the Kings could claim him back and providing they were the only claim the Kings could send him down to AHL without waivers again.

Campbell will not get claimed. First of all, goalies NEVER get claimed at this time of year barring a serious injury on another team. Teams have their goalies decided and inevitably give the guys they have the first chance. Two, he had one decent AHL season not enough for a team to take a chance on.

You're being silly. Kuemper is better than Zatkoff all day and every day.

Don't disagree with the rest of your post but this has happened even recently here with J.F. Berube.

I want to agree that it's not likely, but my hand still burns

On the other hand, if Kuemper wasn't signed, maybe Campbell doesn't push himself so much. Competition brings out the best in players. One of the issues since 2014 is the roster has usually been set heading into camp, so players can just go through the motions. The competition was stiff this year so younger guys are really going for it. I also think it's rubbed off on some of the vets, seeing that desire.

You're right Holden. I think I was confused about this section, when a player already cleared waivers in the first place.

b)
the Player has not played in ten (10) or more NHL Games cumulative since
Regular Waivers on him were last cleared, and more than thirty (30) days cumulative on an NHL
roster have not passed since Regular Waivers on him were last cleared

Berube was a shocker and but again it did happen due to an injury. As far as I know I haven't heard about any injuries to goalies at the moment.

Only examples of goalies getting claimed right at end of camp have been injuries like Condon or Berube. The other factor with Campbell is lack of quality work. Berube did have 3 (albeit mediocre) AHL seasons of starting work to look at. Campbell was atrocious in Dallas' farm team and has just one decent AHL season to look at. And we all know how poorly Berube ending up working out for the Islanders (still can't believe they claimed him, he was not that great in AHL and sure won Calder cup but was sub .900.)

Both Campbell and Auger clear waivers.

that's a relief. Glad he cleared.

Berube was waived. Maybe he would have been an AHL option. Not sure how he did since the Isles claimed him. Another project possibly.
