I feel like that's possible.Washington has first, and prospects.

That’s fair but I question how many teams would actually say ok to that demand. If they are far apart on contract it’s tough to see that gap narrowing that much in a week. If th team floated that to say you have to do better than just a first or we will keep him as a self rental that makes sense. Why?
I think the Canucks are keen on resigning him if Boeser gives in and signs for shorter term like 5-6 years.
They are also in a playoff battle for the wildcard.
What would be the hurry on accepting a 1st and a prospect offer now especially when it looks like it will be available right at the TDL with multiple suitors.

Probably not. He's skilled, clutch, and one of the most likeable people in the league.People are going to have serious buyers remorse trading for Boeser and signing him long term.
This isn't true. His desire is to remain a Canuck, he's been here for 8 years and is very close with several teammates and loves the city.IF the reports are correct. BB is heading states side in the off season when he hits UFA. There is a reason why his name is out there.
something like their 1st + cristall or chesleyI feel like that's possible.
I wouldn’t even want to move Ohgren alone for him. It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to use up that amount of capital in a trade when there’s a decent chance he’s going to sign here in the offseason anyways.I haven’t done the research but which contender teams have their 1st rounders still?
Boeser was elite during the playoffs last year. Still think they would have won game 7 last year if he had been playing.
A 1st rounder this year has way less value than 2026 (seen as a very strong draft). That would be an easy get for the Canucks, the real question is the prospect.
Would the framework of Ohgren + 1st be realistic in terms of value?
What would be comparable to that from other teams?
Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects who has recently become a very reliable source said the following in an interview.
He asked a few teams what the cost would be for Boeser.... Robinson said most teams said ...
A 1st round pick either 2025 or 2026 + a legit prospect.
He then defines what a "legit prospect" means and mentions a young player that used to be a 1st round pick, or a player in the AHL ready to break into the NHL. Centre or Defence.
He said there is lots of interest in Boeser because he has shown he can score 40 goals and even though he dealt with concussion this year, he is still pacing for 30. He also mentions that teams like that Boeser has shown up and perform in the playoffs and teams love paying for goal scorers. The other advantage is that Boeser is only 28 and teams want to not only trade for him but extend him and not just have him as a rental.
Sounds like the Canucks can get some major assets to revamp their lineup if they choose to trade Boeser. Boeser is well loved in the room and in the community however and it would set the Canucks back having to replace his scoring. Canucks already having trouble scoring with Boeser on the roster.
10 team no trade list so lots of teams available to sign him.boeser is a very loyal guy, if he is traded I’m pretty certain he re signs with that team. the guy really doesn’t want to leave Vancouver.
Guentzel was also an astronomical amount before the deadline. Then at the deadline it came down to earth with a 2nd and a bunch of B and C prospects.Of course that's the ask as of now, but the prospect won't be "legit" if one is added at all alongside a 1st.
Depends what you value Kuzmenko and Brzustewicz as?Of course that's the ask as of now, but the prospect won't be "legit" if one is added at all alongside a 1st.
3C and another D that can move the puck and/or shoot from the point are both higher priorities.Leafs should be all over this tbh. Need the scoring

If Boeser could return a first and a “legit” prospect wouldn’t that have happened already?
We should absolutely do this if someone will pay that price.
I live in Vancouver, honestly I also live in Coquitlam. Born and Raised in the Lower Mainland, but you know good try bud. I have watched him his whole career in Vancouver, met him, and I also worked on NHL at EA in Burnaby in the Phase 2 building for 5 years, also I am credited on the games. I am sitting here at Woody's chuckling that some dickhead from somewhere near me is such a presumptuous prickAh yes. Resident expert: “DistantThunderRep” …. In Florida, who probably catches Boeser play 2-3 times a year chiming in with in-depth knowledge.
