Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects who has recently become a very reliable source said the following in an interview.

He asked a few teams what the cost would be for Boeser.... Robinson said most teams said ...

A 1st round pick either 2025 or 2026 + a legit prospect.

He then defines what a "legit prospect" means and mentions a young player that used to be a 1st round pick, or a player in the AHL ready to break into the NHL. Centre or Defence.

He said there is lots of interest in Boeser because he has shown he can score 40 goals and even though he dealt with concussion this year, he is still pacing for 30. He also mentions that teams like that Boeser has shown up and perform in the playoffs and teams love paying for goal scorers. The other advantage is that Boeser is only 28 and teams want to not only trade for him but extend him and not just have him as a rental.

Sounds like the Canucks can get some major assets to revamp their lineup if they choose to trade Boeser. Boeser is well loved in the room and in the community however and it would set the Canucks back having to replace his scoring. Canucks already having trouble scoring with Boeser on the roster.

IF the reports are correct. BB is heading states side in the off season when he hits UFA. There is a reason why his name is out there.

There's litterally been no reports that Boeser is heading states side in the off season. All he has said from day 1 is he loves Vancouver and wants to stay in Van.

He has been linked to Minnesota because its his hometown.

Boeser is the type that doesnt let the Canadian market bother him.

boeser is a very loyal guy, if he is traded I’m pretty certain he re signs with that team. the guy really doesn’t want to leave Vancouver.

I think thts fantasy land and it rarely happens for a reason.

I really dont think that Boeser, especially given his injury history, will want to play in the playoffs without a new contract. That would be worst case scenario for him and would realistically only play out if the Canucks choose to use him as their own rental.

Likely , Boeser will re-sign long term with the team that trades for him. Too risky not too... Imagine the millions and millions of dollars he would lose if he played the playoffs and got severely injured, or what if his blood clots show up again. Too much risk. He is going to re-sign with the Canucks or the team that trades for him before the playoffs imo.

They're apparently far apart on term. He likely wants seven or eight years and I'd be willing to bet the team won't go higher than four or five years.

I don't disagree but where are all these 1sts round picks coming from?

Competitive teams are running out of picks.

in the Interview, Robinson said the Canucks are looking for 2025 or 2026 1st round picks.

Minnesota bound. Book it.

The issue would be , Minny already used assets to pay for Jiricek including this year's first. I doubt they would want to move next years first so soon already too and not have a 1st round pick until 2027.

Liam Ohgren would be an interesting piece for the Canucks tho. He played with Lekkerimaki as part of the Djugarden 3.

Point of reference:

1st round picks currently available to non-lottery teams

2025
17 - Columbus
19 - Detroit
22 - Carolina
26 - Columbus (via Minnesota)
27 - Los Angeles
31 - Washington
32 - Winnipeg

If a bubble team lottery-protects its pick or just takes a risk, that brings in St Louis (10), Utah (12), Boston (13), Ottawa (15), and Vancouver (17).

2026
All but Vegas

I think the Canucks will get that price. This year seems like an up for grabs cup. The 2 best teams winnipeg and Washington are teams where Cinderella is waiting for midnight to strike.

I haven’t done the research but which contender teams have their 1st rounders still?

Boeser was elite during the playoffs last year. Still think they would have won game 7 last year if he had been playing.

A 1st rounder this year has way less value than 2026 (seen as a very strong draft). That would be an easy get for the Canucks, the real question is the prospect.

Would the framework of Ohgren + 1st be realistic in terms of value?

What would be comparable to that from other teams?

Side note but Cam Robinson becoming an insider is pretty out of left field. I wouldn't think he'd be a guy who's connected to GMs, but maybe scouting departments are subscribing to Elite Prospects.

The guy has been boots on the ground at the drafts for years. Also very personable, not surprised at all that he’s built sources.

If Borser could return a first and a “legit” prospect wouldn’t that have happened already?

Why?

I think the Canucks are keen on resigning him if Boeser gives in and signs for shorter term like 5-6 years.

They are also in a playoff battle for the wildcard.

What would be the hurry on accepting a 1st and a prospect offer now especially when it looks like it will be available right at the TDL with multiple suitors.
