Goalies who are 3-0 in the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season:

1) Calvin Pickard

Heard Tyler Yaremchuk describe Pickard on the Gregor show today and I thought it was a good description of Pickard. He said that Pickard is more of a Low Ceiling but High Floor goaltender... which I feel is pretty accurate. Pickard is never going to be an elite great #1 goalie... but on the other end of the spectrum.. he also won't be as horrible and bad as well. I think a team like the Oilers can get by well with this type of goaltender. They don't need a truly elite goalie to steal them games.. just one who can stop the saves you're supposed to make and keep the team in the game. Skinner on the other hand can be a very low floor goaltender... where his bad can be really bad.

I have to wonder, does being an unorthodox, Tim Thomas-like goalie make it harder to scout and give him an edge in the postseason?

Also, I think the more he plays, the better he'll get because he'll have the confidence to make bolder decisions to make saves he shouldn't make. Or come out of his net more to strip opposing players of the puck. He might let in the odd unbelievable blooper, but he'll be a wall otherwise.

He is a good AHL goalie. That's it. He's the best we got right now, so I'm cheering for him.

We, as a fanbase, better get behind Calvin because we're only going as far as he takes us. I doubt Skinner plays another game this playoffs unless Pickard gets banged up & needs a game off which could happen.

There's no sense complaining about what management did or didn't do at this point since the focus should be on the Stanley Cup & not whether you were right about everything.

We just need competent NHL caliber goaltending to go deep & I fell Calvin has shown he can give us that & I think the players feel the same.

Its Calvin's position to lose. Skinner will get another opportunity to sub in, at some point. It depends on how Skinner plays at that time, that may dictate a rerate. Skinner should be traded or re-evaluated after the season. I'm sick of Skinner, but I know his ceiling is higher then Pickards.

This sums up tonight’s game, he allowed 4 and probably wants the second goal back but made some keys saves especially in the last 10 minutes
