Refuse to blame Quick, to many guys who can't keep up defensively on this squad.
But he definitely has come nowhere close to stealing a game these entire playoffs, that is for sure.

The problem is Quick, as a whole, has been ok. We're used to Quick being an animal in the playoffs and so far he's been ok. We're not used to ok.

So who is gonna start the Anze Kopitar thread? He hasn't done **** all this entire series. Toews is showing why Kopitar isn't even second banana for Selke.
In reality, toes has only succeeded when Sutter went full idiot matching the Toews line with another.
Toews looks pretty damn good to me. He's winning at least 50% of his faceoffs. He's completely shut down Kopitar. Even had a couple blocks.

er, they're completely negating each other.
And if you look at the faceoff stats from previous games, you'll see Toews had been eviscerated most of the series.
I'd like Kopitar to pot a few too but if him and Toews cancel each other out, he's done his job. Toews hasn't done a damn thing with Kopitar on the ice. It's a great battle.
That selke comment is laughable.
It's as laughable as the "let's start Jones in game 7" ***** **** I'm hearing around here. Quick will never ever play like he did in 2012 again. Do people really expect him to have a repeat like that? Nickson and Evans think you're Pejorative Slured if you feel that way and it would be true.
And if "being negated" is the best we can expect from Kopitar, then who covers Patrick Kane? You know...that guy that's got 7pts in the last 2 games after being largely absent for the first 4? Who's picking him up? Who is failing their job and why isn't there a thread about it?

Kopitar had his first bad game of the playoff's. It's was going to happen.
The Defense is the problem right now, you can't let the Hawks score 4-5 a night and expect to win.
Kings are scoring plenty, but the Defense needs to tighten up.

Two Selke players are shutting each other down. Kopitar is doing his job and more production is necessary sure but you're not even making sense now.
Two games ago we were talking "who covers that 70s line? They're running over everyone!" Ebbs and flows of a series.
Quite a few people are failing their job and there's a PGT about it.
In the PGT. Try reading it some time. What do you expect from Quick? He made the save on a 2 on 0. He made the big save at the start of the 3rd. Does everyone just forget all that because Quick's supposed to just fight through screens because his teammates can't do **** all about them or don't want to do **** all about them?
I don't believe I am over the top.
The Blackhawks made the adjustments to cover Carter's line and not only are they doing that, but they're exploiting it as well. Kings haven't made any adjustments. They're not adapting to the Blackhawks.

Lots of it is the defense, but lots of this is him. Chicago just wrecks our lives. That 2-on-0 save was amazing, but diminished because of that crap Smith goal. The screens, I'll never get on him for those (as in I won't fault him), but if he just someway, somehow makes one more save, we're golden and not even having this talk. I'm not a big numbers guy when it comes to goalies but to be sub-.900 is a problem in this series. We absolutely need him to be better even if you don't 'fault' him, know what I mean?

I don't think this series was ever about Quick, The Hawks are that good. I expect them to score at least two goals every game. basically spot them that.
So it's about who gets to three first, and not letting the Hawks pot 4 or 5. The Hawks have just way too many skilled scorers to expect Quick or the Defense to keep these games 2-1 or 1-0.
Also add that Coach Q has just thrown his playbook out the window too. It now consist of play Toews and Kane 30 minutes a night....

No that point is well taken--lots of what ifs and lots of players can/should/need to make that one extra play--and again, this is coming from a big Quick defender--but are you fully satisfied with his play?
And I'm not talking just tonight, we're talking this whole series.

It's all moot anyway, Quick will have to come up huge in Game Seven anyway.
He will be the starter, his record in Chicago is awful. But he will need to sack up just like the rest of the Kings. For once it would be nice if the team Bails out Quick in the playoff's.
He sure carried the Kings the last two years, So maybe this year the Kings team can give him one. So far the offense has carried the Kings.
The offense may have to continue to do so if the Kings advance.
