Speculation: Call your shot. Who goes where and for how much?

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Xenforo Cloud is upgrading us to version 2.3.11 on Monday July 20, 2026 at 12:00 AM PST. Expect a temporary downtime during this process. More info here
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
You can’t really get too outlandish with numbers. Teams have money to spend with the rising cap and the UFA class is…what it is. During the playoffs The Athletic podcast was talking about Beck Malenstyn…good 4th liner…kills penalties…hits everything…blocks a ton of shots…and they said he would sign a deal that would make people do a triple take. Teams were monitoring him because of Buffalo’s possible cap crunch and they need to spend money somewhere. Now…Tuch and Byram going out meant no cap crunch and Malenstyn leveraged it into six year term with a million dollar per year raise and some trade protections. And I genuinely believe he’d have gotten a higher AAV, but not the term, if he hit free agency.

That’s how not conservative you can be about these upcoming contracts.

Call your shot

Who goes where for how much? the moment the window open there will be signings so trying to guess which gets announced first will be a dead heat

Too old and too slow gets too many years for way too much money

With that said Trouba to Long Island 3 x 7.5

Giroux to Colorado, 1x$2M.
  • Up to $2.5M in performance bonuses ($2M at 10gp, $500K if Colorado makes WCF).

Chicago looks like a pretty desperate team. Won’t be surprised if they are very busy. Some teams are gonna make some big mistakes on a bad FA class. I’d like to see Kane go to Toronto or Buffalo. Toronto seems primed to make a mistake on bob.

I've said this before. I think when [edit]tomorrow[/edit] is said and done, that Ryan Shea (I'm guessing 5x3.75m) will be one of the better signings made tomorrow (those with term).
