I think coach's choice. They usually put a middle 6 guy who can make something happen if he's sprung on a breakaway coming out of the box. Bennett being the perfect choice because he's not being used on the penalty kill.

Yeah, sometimes the coach will put an offensive player in the box so when if the penalized team has possession of the puck as the player serving the penalty is about to get out, he might be in a good position for a rush.
