I would like to thank Calgary for showing up for what will be a heavily watched series throughout North America.

This has two scenarios coming together imo:

1) Calgary is clearly the better team top to bottom, and this a 5 game series that Edmonton is really not in except one game where McDavid goes nuclear.

2) McDavid scores at will and this is a 6-7 game series where Edmonton wins despite being the second best team the entire series (heavily outshot, out-chanced, out-matched, but somehow McDavid still scores 3 points a night and they win).

Go Flames Go! I'm not predicting the series, or how many games. I'm just cheering for the Flames to punt these guys to the curb and move on to the conference finals.
Hoping Tanev will be back asap all healed up. If he does come back in Game 1, I still say run with the 7 D Michael Stone has been fantastic, Ritchie can sit.

Mike Smith is no Jake Oettinger…. I like our chances
He's a proven playoff performer. Second to Tim Thomas all time in playoff save pct I believe.
I wouldn't expect him to sieve it up. He's older and we can put pressure on him for sure. I just don't expect him to suddenly be pulled every game cause he's let in 6.

Leafs fan coming here to cheer you guys on to the Cup. Have always liked you guys ever since they stole the Cup from you guys against TB long long time ago and Oiler fans are among the most annoying fans in the world towards my team
Please smash them and their stupid ugly jerseys

I dunno man shut down McDrai and just hammer Smith with as many shots as you can keep that up I dont see why you guys cant take them in 6

Haven’t gone to the oilers board yet but I suspect kool aid consumption is in full effect, especially with their Kane add… nonetheless If our top pair is legit flames in 5 or 6

I was less than thrilled about the Dallas matchup, and it was exactly the hair-pullingly frustrating experience that I expected.

I have always been terrified of a BoA series due to the emotional stakes. But at this point I'm happy to have erased the "never won a series" narrative and be looking forward to much better hockey than what we just observed.

Edmonton's PP concerns me greatly, but at least in a playoff series we'll be game planning specifically for it.

This is exactly how I feel. Their pp vs our pk will decide the series. I don't think our pp will be very good tbh. It was awful in rd1, will be marginally better in rd2, but Edmonton's pp is probably good for 1 probably 2+ goals a game so we'll need to torch them 5 on 5. The Stars couldn't do much on their own pp so that was even in rd1. It won't be especially close in rd2 imo. I'm still confident we can certainly win, but that pp of theirs is incredibly efficient.

Wow F those people, Hope they get caught and he gets his own luxury box.
f***ing disgusting this sort of stuff happens in 2022. I understand Calgary wasn’t always the friendliest to immigrants and minorities, but this city has come a long way. Unfortunately some people can never get over their prejudices (my father is one of these people sadly… ugh don’t even want to think about it right now).

Hope we don’t lose a hockey fan forever because of this incident.

Ugh, that's BS that something like that happened to that Uncle Ji. That type of crap shouldn't be tolerated against out of town fans, let alone one of our own fans.

I agree that I hope that a hockey fan isn't lost due to this incident and that there's some way to make it up to him.

Smith can try and pull an Oettinger all he wants. He might pull a groin in the process.
Annoyingly, Koskinen ups his game against us. So I think Edmonton's goaltending this series will be adequate.

I agree this likely will be a high scoring affair for 5-7 games.
