Meh. We'll see if he develops next year or just gets frustrated at UMass.
Very happy with the pick. It was pretty much a no brainer. He was a consensus Top 4 guy despite what some self proclaimed "scouts" on these boards may think.

Well it's settled then at 18 years old.Maybe he learns to actually play D someday, otherwise he's never going to sniff Karlsson level or even top-3D status.
He's basically Tyson Barrie 2.0, where some improvements were made to his stick in the D zone and his shot, but that's about it.

It's the biggest thing that makes Karlsson the player that he is. And while I'm not expecting Makar to become Karlsson, I do think the similarities exist and with his IQ being the strong point to Makars game I do believe he has a very, very high ceiling.
