I don't think he's even having that great of season and he's 1st in P/GP. For most of it he's looked like he's been puttering along in 3rd gear waiting for the playoffs.

He's been hot trash in his own zone and needs off season surgery. But he's too busy chasing clout to think about what's best for the team.

Yeah that's fair. I think it's just so rare for a Dman I would have conversely been shocked if it wasn't his first.

I looked a few guys up out of curiosity. Nick Lidstrom got his 1st and only career hattrick in 2010 at age 40. Erik Karlsson got his first and only last season. Roman Josi hasn't had one yet.

Your opinion is outdated. There's a reason Canucks have the best goal differential in the league, and thats because of Hughes


Makar is the best, Hughes is the best. both statements are true to me. both clearly ahead of the rest

As for Makar game, can't be more happy for the kid and i hope he does some damage in the playoffs and go for the second cup in his young career

Or as a result of playing with the Art Ross favorite. Makar is doing very little on his own this year. Still the best D in the world, just not specifically this season.
