Calder Watch : 2024-25 Season

...so does that make all Sharks fans lovable losers that are just happy to be here??...or is projecting an entire fanbase (especially arguably the LARGEST ONE on the Planet) off of a few obnoxious/overzealous fans just plain wrong??...
we love our laney and thats ok! Sharks fans would love him as well if he was sharks property, he would really help out their AHL team.

It's a joke. Don't take it too serious.

I've been on this board since well before 2003. It's been an inevitable just like death and taxes, there is a good portion of the fanbase that is exhausting. It's always been that way Not exclusive to Habs fans either, the main boards themselves have been a toxic environment people tend to avoid.

Now I just gotta have a Habs fan remind us that Celibrini is an average 2nd liner at best while Wolf is just "an okay" starter and we are set!
Not many Hab fan would agree with you We think Cele is gonna be one of the better player in the league and Wolf is a top starter unlike many other fans who still claim that Hutson sucks defensively , has to many secondary assist and not enough goals to be the Calder winner. Hell we even had a Shark who claimed that Hutson would not had make this yrs Shark team. So much crap Has been thrown his direction to try to make his season just average all because of the Jersey he wears.

I know, I'm just being tongue-in-cheek because there was a Habs fan here who essentially made that claim haha.

While Hutson is definitely being ripped to shreds there is absurd takes on both sides. Those fans are so bias they can’t see anything except their own player

Hutson huge assist on the game tying goal tonight, (59 on the year) hes been absolutely instrumental in this playoff push.

So glad montreal was able to fit him on their roster this year, not every team could

If Wolf plays Thursday and gets the win, he'll reach 30 wins and be just the14th goalie since the modern era (1968 onwards) to reach the milestone. The last goalie to do it was Matt Murray

...he's had a phenomenal season; imo, he'd win it most years, hands down...unfortunately for him, if Hutson gets a point against Carolina, he ties Phil Housley for 4th All Time in rookie defenseman scoring...he's tied with Ray Bourque for 5th right now...

i understand most folks on here are older/east coast/canadians, but the truth must be told, regardless of whether the truth is inconvenient and/or uncomfortable to experience first hand on an obscure internet forum.

regarding the truth that celebrini -is- the calder favorite/de-facto winner aka victor,
"no, you simply lack the strength to wield the truth, your bodies would crumble as your minds collapsed into madness" appropriate video reference for the uninitiated and uncultured

here is the answer to the question you fail to even ask. for this truth challenges one's identity on a scale hitherto undreamt of:

CELEBRINI:

* the -kid- is ~2.5 years -younger- than hutson.
* has scored at a better PPG than hutson, on a worse team, sorry THE WORST team, a non-playoff team
* oh, and he was the hobey baker winner while hutson was on the same team "that doesn't matter" it does, regardless of you saying/thinking/-clinging- to this.

there is more, but. we all know this pierces right to the core and can never be unheard again, nor can your mind ever return to the ridiculous notion that "muh hutson calder wannabe"

Pretty much any non-Montreal fan thinks celebrini will be the best rookie longterm

This wouldn’t even be a discussion if celebrini was playing with #1C Suzuki or even caufield etc.

Sure Hutson could end up as a Hughes type player but a quality #1C is at worst going to be similar value.

Not sure why we can’t support both players and count our blessings that we get to watch an unbelievable crop of rookies this year. Unfortunately it seems like winning the Calder isn’t enough for some fans, they need to bring down celebrini and especially michkov because their team fumbled their lottery pick.

Couple more posts like this and Celebrini might have a chance! Keep going!

Obviously not a candidate for the Calder, especially not in a year this stacked...but this Blues fan wants to give a shoutout to Zachary Bolduc. Nineteen goals, thirty-six points, solid underlying metrics that show he's been a solid all-around player, much more physical and played with more of an edge (almost Perron-like) than I thought he had? And he did most of his damage after the Four Nations tournament on the third line with guys like Oskar Sundqvist and Mathieu Joseph on his line?

Obviously, Hutson, Celebrini, and Wolf are the contenders, but I think Bolduc deserves a bit of love as well.
