You were arguably mocking me with “silly.” So I took a jab back even though I like Leo quite a bit and would have loved him on the Sharks. Perhaps, I worded it wrong but Celebrini’s early career calibre of potential is better than all our HOFers and it’s not close.…..relax dude. I was commenting on you comparing Celebrini to Joe Thornton. You can go through every post I’ve made and you won’t find any Celebrini hate.
I didn’t call him small. Joe Thornton was significantly bigger and bigger players take longer to develop. Nowhere did I insult Celebrini.
I didn’t say he was bad anywhere. Ever. Comparing him to a HHOF who is 14th overall in points and played 1700 games is quite aggressive. No doubt he will be a star most likely for a long time. Let’s just pump the brakes a little. It's not just the offensive that's impressive though, those that watch him see how good he is overall
I bet he would since his teammates aren't an AHL defense and 2C Alex Wennberg. I'm just happy he's even producing with the garbage we have while being backstopped by 8Giev on a nightly basisjust to be clear, hutson will still put many more pts
Joe Thornton?Celebrini hat-trick and 4 points. Absolute stud. Our franchise has never had a player of his caliber/potential.
Lol, meanwhile he’s literally still behind.I’d say celebrini takes the lead but he never lost it
It will be close (I was being unfair to Joe after the game) but Celebrini’s potential from his rookie season has many Sharks fans thinking he will surpass him. It took Joe 4-5 seasons to be slightly better than Celebrini’s rookie season and Joe wasn’t as defensively sound at this age.Joe Thornton?
IrrelevantCompare Joe Thornton’s 1st 5 seasons to Celebrini’s rookie season. Took him until his 4 season to nearly hit PPG.
I think this version of San Jose 3.0 (small Larionov window in the 90s, then Jumbo Joe) could easily surpass the Sharks success where it counts...in the playoffs and Celebrini/Smith are 2 very important pieces there. It will be close (I was being unfair to Joe after the game) but Celebrini’s potential from his rookie season has many Sharks fans thinking he will surpass him. lol, are you really comparing someone feeding off early prime Joe in his 3rd season + AHL experience for an outlier season to Celebrini who is carrying the Sharks on his back as an 18 year old? What a facetious argument.Irrelevant
Cheechoo had 50+ goals as a rookie feeding off of Joe
How did he turn out? After that rookie season
All we're saying is that saying the Sharks had never had something/someone so good when you had prime Joe Thornton is really premature

To be fair, Cheechoo's downfall was due to his injuries. He wasn't some scrub.Irrelevant

Celebrini: 18 years old, 66 GP 24 G 38 A 62 P = 0.93 PPG
Hutson: 21 years old, 78 GP 6 G 58 A 64 P = 0.82 PPG
Not even close. Celebrini's season is way more impressive.
Celebrini is not playing with any prime HOFers. His argument his irrelevant. Joe was what 25 at the time too?...no, he was showing what Joe did for CheeChoo, not comparing CheeChoo to Celebrini...to show just how incredible Thornton was in his Prime...might have been the greatest passer to ever play...
This is why I think he could win the Calder, his supporting cast compared to Montreal is night and dayKovalenko - Celebrini - Smith
Eklund - Wennberg - Toffoli
Bottom 6 who cares it's trash
Ferraro - Liljegren
Vlasic - Thrun
Carlsson - Thompson
Georgiev
If any other rookie has to deal with this horseshit every night I'd be surprised they'd break 50 (I say that as Smith comes pretty darn close). And that's tonight's game. I want to be clear that there are 4 legit top 6ers on that line up, but that defense is unforgivably bad. Carlsson, Thompson, and Thrun are AHLers. Desharnais would barely make it as a 6 in this line up. Rutta's a 7. They can't move the puck worth a damn
Huston plays on the PP and first line with better players. It’s fair to say Celebrini would be near 70 points at this point in 66 games playing with the likes of Suzuki and Caulfield. Even Montreal’s defense san Huston is better than the Sharks. They had what like 76 points last season? Sharks are at 50 and won’t even hit 60....Celebrini, Top Line C...Hutson, Top Pairing D...what Hutson is doing is challenging NHL records this Season...
