Calder Watch : 2024-25 Season

It's obviously Hutson now, despite his weird face.

Celebrini's chance was nuked with the shameless tanking Shark mgmt has done since trading Blackwood.
yup they already had league-last defense and now are basically starting every shift in their zone other than icings.

and now the coach is trying to make smith the F1 on the top line which he absolutely can't do.

I’d love to see your rankling of the last 10 Calder winners based on…cuteness.
It’s not about cute, it’s about the guy looks like he’s wearing a skin suit.

Fr, no way for their young forwards to get the puck. Not a good development strategy imo.

And even then, celebrini should have had 2-3 more points tonight.

...nothing else needs to be said...

So, just to be clear, is physical appearance a requisite for winning the Calder, or are you just mean spirited and petty?
Well you need to be a human being to win and not a lizard man wearing a skin suit and the jury is still out

Realistically the Calder race was over long ago.

It would've been highway robbery to award the Calder Trophy to a forward putting up numbers we see on the regular from top end forward prospects when there's a defense prospect putting up near historic numbers.

Over the last decade there has been 15 forwards that put up 60+ point rookie seasons, not to mention that Jason Robertson and Kaprizov were on pace to blast past 60 points if the 2020-21 season wasn't 56 games. Over the last 3 decades there have been 0 rookie defensemen to pass 60 points, at least until this season.

Pardon my ignorance, I know what a secondary assist is, but what is a secondary goal?
Hutson threads have become incredibly thick with sarcasm as a way of mocking all of the dumb takes we’ve had to endure about him this season.

First he was too small, weak and slow to play in the NHL

Then he was ok offensively but horrible defensively, a gadget player like tyson barrie

Then he was a secondary assist leech

Then finally, shayne gostisbehere had a better rookie season

The mocking is deserved, and will continue until further notice
