Everybody forgetting Celebrini has 6 less points in 12 less games.
Somehow there's still people like you who just forget that they're comparing the points output of a defenseman with those of a center.

Honestly, with the past two games performance, Lane is a shoe in for the Calder, unless Michkov gets like 20 more points or something. Celebrini is definitely out of the running. He's too far back points-wise. The Flames aren't making the playoffs, so Wolf is out too.

I'd love to hear anyone's argument for voting against Hutson.

Hutson deservedly has it in the bag, Montreal will be incredible in the coming years with Demidov added to the mix!
Look all of that is now irrelevant and it's not because Macklin isn't a stud

Hutson just surpassed the number 2 assist record and pacing to surpass number one quite soon

He's matched Makars number for assists and is 7th in assist for total players this year's, his rookie year

He could be the worst defensive player in the game but offensively it's clear that he's special and will be a game breaker

And when it comes to Dman points he's 4th after Makar, Hughes and Werenski

The alternative is a Crosby and Ovechkin like rookie year when both ended up with 100 plus points and were 4th and 6th in points. If Macklin was pacing for that, we'd absolute have a worthy debate.

Hutson has the Habs fighting for the playoffs. Macklin has the Sharks fighting for the 1st overall pick.

Obviously it’s not Celebrini’s fault, but he’d have to have ~20 more points than Hutson to be the Calder front runner. He’s producing less and his team is significantly worse in the standings. There’s no debate.

Watching a video where a content maker was making a comment on this. Pointed out Lane was on the ice for 13 empty netters against distorting his +-. So in this case take the +- with a bucket of salt.

Hutson has 9 more points in 12 more games. Celly and Hutson have roughly the same PPG average! So that can't be used anymore. Plus, people keep forgetting that Hutson is a dman. He should not be anywhere close to the same PPG as Celebrini / Michkov let alone leading all rookies in points.
