I didn't initially see the security guy. That's great. Also noticed the assistant coach jumping up and down while Coach Stothers was playing it cool on the outside.

For those who haven't watched much AHL hockey, the refs are notoriously subpar.

It's bad when the ECHL has better officiating...

Both of tonight's referees have AHL/NHL Contracts. T.J. Luxmore did 21 NHL games this season and Mark Lemelin did 17.

Luxmore actually did two Kings games this season. He's the referee that originally disallowed this goal(Skip to the 10 minute mark).

Was BBQing and put down my phone when the winner was scored. Go figure. And you're welcome

I'm 6' and I live in LA. I met Weal in the middle of the street, the one that often gets closed down when Staples Center has a game (Chick Hearn Ct.). I shook his hand and he looked like a kid, like Casey Affleck. It was after round 1 of the draft. Compared to my own height, he must have been like 5' 7". I thought there's no way he's a NHL player but he signed some kid's little wood toy hockey stick...Kings' stick bought at the Team LA store, so I guessed he must be a player. My friend told me who he was and I had just read about him in the THN Draft Preview mag (I read that thing like 50 times).

He got drafted by the Kings the next day along with guys like Toffoli and Kitsyn.

Side story: I also met this skinny, black kid who was trying to get in to the building (Staples) and was standing in line in front of me trying to get in. He was my height. First I shook his hand, then congratulated him on getting drafted in the first round. Then I led him to the door, told him that with his pass he didn't have to wait in line for the place to open, and got an usher to let him in...LA kid by the name of Emerson Etem.

Another questionable goal beats Berube. But he comes back with a big save just now. Monarchs turning pucks over.

disagree. I thought it was just a great shot. If Miller makes a better decision with the puck there the goal doesn't happen. He tried to force it in a dangerous area and paid the price and even if Berube maybe should of had it he more than made up for it with that stick save less than a minute later.
The Monarchs puck management in the first 40 was very poor. They lost a ton of board battles tonight. Definitely going to have to clean that up in Utica.
as far as the officiating goes I thought the only one they got right for Manchester anyway was the 2nd O'Brien call. it was a clear cross check. really don't know what he was thinking there.

Finally got to watch the game. So stoked about the win! Not nearly as good tonight. But got the win. Berube was HUGE! And what great hustle on the game winner by Dowd!

2012 SCF: Game 1 OT win, Game 2 OT win
2014 SCF: Game 1 OT win, Game 2 OT win
2015 Monarchs: Game 1 OT win, Game 2 OT win

I'm seeing a pattern here. ;)

Great stories, Rorschach. :yo:
