Oettinger has to win it for Dallas. Round 1 has to be his Stanley cup performance.

IF Dallas do get by the Avs, get Heiskanen back for round 2..ironically Dallas probably gets a matchup they are more comfortable with.

But all about what Oettinger can keep Colorado to. If he can somehow keep the Avs to 2 or 3 a game. The Stars do have the forward group that can match that and win 4 games.

If the Avs dial up their scoring heat and get to 4+...they win all games

Pretty much depends on when Heiskenen comes back because that defense is doodoo. Bischel got smoked like 3 times last game including getting turnstiled by Morgan Baron on the rush.

An absolute beaut of a series and I thank Gord that my oilers don't have to play either one in round 1. Both could win a cup. Brutal first round luck.

In case my oilers somehow survive round one.. I hope this goes 7 games with multiple OTs... Finish every hit.. block every shot.

Should be a great series for neutral fans, but nerve wracking for Stars and Avs fans.

I’m going with my heart and saying Avs in 6, but it wouldn’t surprise me at all if DeBoer beats Bednar yet again. He’s done it with San Jose, Vegas, and Dallas before.

It really pisses me off that this is a first round matchup. None of Dallas, Vegas, Colorado or Winnipeg should be playing each other in round 1 smh.

I have the Avs in this one. The series would be a lot closer, and more like a chess match, if Miro was healthy.

The Avs have improved their depth, D, and are much better in net than previous iterations.

As an Avs fan, I don't think we've won a game 7 since Roy was our goalie. Plus I've seen 3 OT game 7 losses in my tenure as an Avs fan. In saying that, if Avs don't win in 6 they lose the series.

Dallas D is not upto par. Nill made a Dumba decision this off-season to address the D and the hope that Lundqvist would make some progress (if he was ever) never did materialize. Add to that, Miro's injury could only be replaced by Ceci. I wish they'd gone after a top D instead of Rantanen (if one was available), but I understand rhey had to be in play for a player like him, being the win-now team that they are. However, D has been their glaring weakness for a while now and Nill hasn't done well to address that, and that's why I dont think Dallas is a favorite here. And while Oettinger has the edge in goal, he (like Turco) can't seem to win a game 1 in the playoffs. If Miro isn't back until games 5 or 6 and Oettinger lays another game 1 egg, series is over in 5 games for Avs.
