When has Ehlers ever done anything in the NHL playoffs?Ehlers was serially mismanaged by Bowness. I'd expect him to make some noise in later rounds if he gets healthy
I'm torn.. in a perfect world the Blues take this in 6 and Binnington makes Hellebuyck his bitch again.
The Jets are a team that already uses their extra gear in the regular season, they don't have the kind of improvement left for the playoffs that real contenders do. Thats why they get diced up by talented teams like Vegas and Colorado. But I don't know that the Blues, a team who may have blown their load on the run leading up to the playoffs, have that kind of talent to win this series.
Unfortunately I've gotta say Jets in 6. They overcome a leaky Hellebuyck and don't look good doing it, but the Blues don't have quite enough left in the tank to win the series. Colorado comes in next round and finishes the job in a repeat of last year.
I hope I'm wrong... with Parayko back and Binnington playing like the playoff stud he is, the Blues certainly have a real chance.
Love to see itThere's plenty of reasons why I want the Jets to win the Cup but this guy right here is near the top of the list.
Oh that rent was paid... by Rob Blake for giving the Jets the farm for a sad sack year of PLD.Love to see it
(Me, a random dude on a message board living rent free. Not the jets winning the cup, that would be gross)
I'm gunna bite my tongue on this one until we see how Kuemper and Hellebuyck each do in these playoffsOh that rent was paid... by Rob Blake for giving the Jets the farm for a sad sack year of PLD.
Thanks again for that.
Lol why does he have to prove something? He's already done that. We've won a lot of games over the last 2 seasons. We just gotta be jetsIts time for Hellebuyck to prove his worth when the games matter most. If Binnington plays lights out, Hellebuyck will be In a tough spot.
Someone hasn't watched the last two playoffs if you think he's an advantage for the BluesJets fan so I gotta go with the Jets.
But blues have been hawt fire since 4 nations break, have a goalie who will stand on his head in big games (and did so vs the Jets in 2019 on their way to a cup win), and have a smart strategic coach in JM
And jets playoff record isn’t exactly one dithered with deep runs or even making a series go the distance outside of 2018.
So yes there are some nerves on my end I must admit.
At least blues fans are a cool bunch
underrated as one of the worst playoff performers of todaynotoriously quiet playoff guy to begin with
Does anyone even know who the leafs #1 is? I havent heard anythingI'm gunna bite my tongue on this one until we see how Kuemper and Hellebuyck each do in these playoffs
The Blues are a very good team.
Which is good because the Jets have played their best hockey against good teams.
We don't have that waste of space Kevin Hayes from the 2019 series to sabotage things.
That round 1 series was 2 - 2 after the first 4 games with all the wins on the road.
Game 5 critical moment.
The puck is going in the Blues net for the go ahead goal for the Jets and Hayes in a pathetic attempt to ensure that the puck crossed the line actually somehow prevents the goal. The Blues capitalize on that to win game 5 and eventually game 6 to end the series.
If Hayes hadn't sh%t the bed we may have seen a game 7 or even a Jets win in 6.
That gaffe was the biggest single F-Up in Jets 2.0 history.
The playoffs are always a crap shoot.
I won't feel any where close to comfortable until Winnipeg wins their 2nd game.
You just went back to watch a game from when? What a waste of timeThis is such an odd post to me. What a weird play to hold on to I went back and watched highlights of that game 5 to see if it was in there and it was surprisingly. I don't know how you can fault him for that he is falling down from a check from Parayko while trying to get his stick on the puck, hardly a screw up just an unfortunate result if your a Jets fan. Yes it was significant but there are 100 plays a game that if this or that happened differently it would change the outcome of said game. If the shot was a quarter of an inch this way or that way it goes in or gets stopped. At that point in the game it was still 2-0 Jets, they were still in control, it wasn't that play that decided that game. Especially since there was an even more egregious play in the same game. When Trouba tried to swallow a puck against boards behind his goalie with 20+ seconds left.
notoriously quiet playoff guy to begin with

First, I watched highlights from a game in 2019 not an entire game. Took about 5 mins. Second, you already seem so amped up and slightly agitated? The series hasn't even started yet.
What about it? Jets played a great defensive game and shut the Blues down. I even posted as much on the Jets board afterward. Playoffs are a different animal, momentum changes can be a downfall. As I said in my first post in this thread that is why I see the key to this round being Hellebuyck. He is a great goalie but in the past he hasn't had much post season success, if he lets a bad goal in is he going to be able to shrug it off and get back to it or is he going to unravel. What about the game the other day?
