C Shane Vansaghi - USNTDP, USHL (2025 Draft)

You can hit me in the head, but I don’t see critical troubles with his skating.
I mean he’s not a Nick Ehlers, but he’s just an average skater for 6’2 guy. And he has a lot of time to work.

Not sure of how you guys feel about David St. Louis from elite prospects, but he has him ranked in the 20’s with an “up” arrow in a breakdown I just caught and seems to think the skating can be optimized to a nhl serviceable level.

Agree, he can hit a pretty good speed once he gets going

I don't think he'll be there. He's going late first/early second.

Not sure why he should go in the 1st or even early 2nd.

10 points in his first 11 NCAA games made some people think he's got more offensive upside than what he's shown in previous seasons at the USHL level, where he wasn't particularly impressive for the USNTDP.

He only had 6 points in his last 26 games for the Spartans. Not the kind of growth you are looking for in his 18YR old development season.

If he had elite tools maybe you could take a chance on him with a late 1st/early 2nd, despite his lack of offense, but he doesn't have those either.

Because scouts look beyond points. In a weak draft he's of the most likely to be NHL ready and he's going to be a middle 9/3rd line RW that will have apsecific role.

Red Savage spoke really highly of him on a Chiclets episode, said he'd end up on Mich State NHL Alumni wall.
