Vansaghi wasn't selected in the USHL phase II draft where guys like Pardue, Baker, McMorrow, LVV, Epperson all were. I'm reading that as an indication he's playing at MSU next year. I think that could be a mistake if so. He played bottom 6 with no powerplay time with the u18s and would likely be the same at MSU. He's got enough skill to be interesting from a draft perspective, but not enough that would lock him into any sort of prominent role. A year in the USHL being a go to player would have been best for his development in my view.

Unless it means he's going OHL route.
I really like his game, definitely someone who can go in the first 3 rounds next year

Yeah, it was a very poor season for him. College hockey next season for him could be rough other than him being a physically big kid

He’s lucky he even finished the season with the 18’s. I thought he was quite literally the worst player on the team. He’s big and physical with a little offense for a fourth line only winger, but doesn’t have that much and his skating is mediocre. I think he’ll go like 3rd-5th round next year, at minimum, because someone will like him enough to classify him as a power forward, but I don’t see him playing much next year in college hockey. He needs a year of being PPG in the USHL to help his draft stock and progress offensively.

If Potter couldn’t crack the top 6, USA was never going to put him on the team. Vansaghi is a role player that can play bottom six and he’s way more physically mature.

Physically mature players tend to do well in this tournament.
Maybe I wasn’t clear, but I was talking about MSU giving Vansaghi a scholarship for this year and not Potter.

where does he go in the draft this summer?
Second or third round probably.
