Then he nearly scores after pursuing the Raiders into a PP turnover by just dogging the puck with speed. Feels like he took the first period personally...

Looks like Geekie hurt himself at the end of that PP. That's not good for the Ice at all with Benson already down.

Edit - Geekie back on the ice, moving as well as he usually moves so not sure what might have gone wrong. He was laboring to get up and out of the corner.

His production has been unreal the 2nd half of their season. He must not have been 100% when he came back from surgery because wow the kid has been dominant.
What impresses me about it is that…yeah it’s one thing to be hindered by an injury…but getting this much stronger when it also cut down your ability to prepare for the season is incredible. Seasons are long, everyone is playing hurt now and it grinds you down even if you enter in peak condition. He didn’t. And he’s getting better on the fly

Something that strikes me about his game when he's on the right side of the Ice PP (not his normal spot, he's usually to the lower left positionally) is how crisp his cross-seam passes are to the other half-wall player. And how having a shot-pass option on the Sabres PP on the other side from Thompson could be shockingly good. I usually think that will be Quinn's job, but man... they are going to have options.

Low key favorite play - Ritchie breaking in on RW on a 2-on-1 and Savoie tracks back to rush Ritchie's shot and finishes his hit on him to eliminate him from being in the play.

Most talented player in last yrs draft imo.

The kid is absolutely an incredible young talent , with a very bright future and will be An electrifying and hi light reel machine for a very long time to come .

He’s one of the most talented for sure , but Logan Cooley is the most talented from last years draft currently. But Savoie is coming for him and giving Cooley a run for his money with this simply dominant and dazzling form of late

We have a foundational and future star in the making

Welcome, my friends :sarcasm:

Just glad Savoie is healthy and showing his abilities. Next step is to keep building on that with more strength.

Barring injuries this season, VO has played his last game in a Sabres uni. No way Savoie loses a spot to Oloffson at camp next season (if VO is even there).
My bet would be if its a prospect it will be Kulich.
Not sure why he will jump a level ahead over Rosen/Kulich.
He is still needs a pro game adjustment.

He’s more talented than those players. And he doesn’t have the option of playing in the AHL and earning a call up. Having a better camp than Kulich and Rosen is an incredibly likely scenario. It’s the most likely outcome, in fact. He doesn’t get docked points because he isn’t allowed to play pro yet. And he isn’t being held back another year after next season because he still wouldn’t have played pro after next year.

yes, he is more talented, but we dont know how quickly he can adjust. I'm not saying its not possible, but you shouldn't count on it. he has just camp and 8 games and than they have to make a decision.

the similarities between Briere and Savoie are insane tho...

I think @Jim Bob made that comparison a few weeks ago. Good stuff.

Savoie becomes our Briere. Cozens becomes our Drury. And Thompson becomes our pet giraffe.

Money.

Is he more talented that Kulich? Because Kulich's AHL season has been insane.
