Helluva shot on this kid. Still not sure how well he translates to the pros but that shot is undeniable.
I think he's got a very easy path, his whole game is translatable. Everything he does is pro ready and has been, he's gotten rave reviews whenever he shows up at camp and has had exceptional call ups from the OHL.

Yeah the same way Minten looked good in his NHL stint I think Beck will fit right away

Maybe he still need time to develop but he seems like a sure bet to become a bottom six

This. Beck is that ridiculously smart, tough, hard hitting, grinding type of player that stars HATE playing against. In Beck's case he also has an accurate laser for a shot, high IQ and is insane at faceoffs. He is the type of player you would kill to have on your 3rd or 4th line at the NHL level. If someone is injured he has enough talent to move up the lineup. This is his floor, imo.

I think bare minimum his skillset will allow him to be a good 3C, I'm not convinced yet he's going to bring a ton on offense but he's kinda been billed as Danault-lite since they drafted him and I still think that's in the cards with his 2 way ability. I think he could have played in a team's bottom six this year and looked unspectacular but fine

2022 draft has the potential to be a real game changer for Montreal, not gonna put it up there with 2017 Dallas but if Beck and Hutson stick to their trajectory that could be 3 core players in the first two rounds
