4th round pick by the Rangers in 2022. Leads Colorado college in goals and points right now with 6+4=10 points in 9 games.

This is his freshman season, but he’s the age of a sophomore. The team he plays on had two players on the last USA WJC team, so it’s not some awful team with no NHL prospects. He’s a center with grit, size, and some goal scoring ability.

Was CC's second-leading scorer as a freshman, received an invite to the USA U20 camp and has ideal size with a physical edge to his game.

Seems like he is flying under the radar.
He's an intriguing prospect. I liked the pick at the time but was then underwhelmed by his USHL performance. He's really turned it on in college. I am curious, though, if he will plateau or take another jump.

4+5=9 points in 8 games. He's the age of most college juniors, despite being a sophomore, so if he's to make the NHL eventually you'd expect something around or above 1PPG, but a good start to the season.

Do you think we have something legit here?

Tigers are an interesting story to start the year and fun to follow because there are two players from New Jersey in the lineup - including leading scorer Gleb Veremyev.

Will be interesting to see if they can maintain things through the season.

Goalie Kaiden Mbereko is also an intriguing prospect. Undrafted, likely due to his height, he has the reputation for being the hardest worker on the team.

A chance to be a bottom six forward. For a 4th round pick, you take that every day of the week.

We have a few recent picks in mid/late rounds that could be bottom six forwards. There’s been a recent emphasis from the new drafting team on finding these players as opposed to swinging on some random 5’10 Euro who is a lot more boom or bust.

Makes sense. Our top six is mostly set with Zibby, Kreider, Panarin, Laf and one of Trochek/Chytil.

If they didn't swing for some random Euro they would never have drafted Buch.

What type of NHL statlines would be good for guys like Laba and Lamb?
Lamb is more of an offensive guy. If he reaches the NHL, it’s probably as a late bloomer offensively, and maybe we could get a middle six winger.

Laba will be bottom six. If we can get a guy as effective as Vesey I’ll be thrilled.

19+15=34 points in 32 games. Leads his team in scoring by 9 points. They are 10th in the country, and just beat the 4th ranked team thanks to two goals from Laba.

Such a good player for Colorado College. Can almost guarantee Kris Mayotte (former Michigan assistant) used his Michigan minor hockey connections to get Laba to go there. Interested to see how Laba does this year as CC should be even better, might be one who signs his ELC after the Tigers are done.

Of Laba's 20 goals last season, 4 came in OT. He started this year where he left off, scoring in OT to win game 1. He had 4 assists last night, giving him 6 points in 2 games.

Hat trick tonight. Was struggling to score goals. Shooting 5%, so you know how it goes. 3 goals on 6 shots. Has 5+12=17 points in 16 games. Started the season well, but dealt with some injuries recently.
