Big fan of his game and i think it will translate extremely well in the NHL.

I see Oreilly/Horvat type with his play.

1st round talent for sure , probably top 20.

He probably doesn't have the offense to reach those heights. I'm expecting Gaucher to be a 3rd/4th line type, but one of those guys that you think of as amongst the very best 3rd/4th line shutdown types in the league.

Who would you rather.. Lambert or Gaucher? Who do y’all think will be picked first?

I think someone gambles on Lambert's perceived upside before Gaucher but at the same time, I could see a team with multiple picks like Buffalo shoot for Gaucher over Lambert.

Seriosuly dislike the pick. I doubt he’ll ever amount to anything. Just another forward that madden picks who amounts to nothing

Already built like a man which is great but that is what allowed him to shine.. 4th liner but given their needs and how many picks they have... that may be what they wanted here and there will be many picks that don't make it at all.

Don’t love the pick, but the people saying “4th liner” are being a bit harsh. Still a lot to be determined. And from what I’ve seen/read he skates pretty well.

I think he has a solid chance to be a 3C that you need to win a playoff series. Not what I want from a 22 overall pick but there’s some talent here

Interesting, I was not expecting that until some rumors popped up. He wasn't even playing scrimmages, he was a lock. A bit surprised but as a Ducks fan I'm happy

Yep, for sure. Plenty of scorers on that squad, Gaucher can bring something else.

Also, I was today years old when I found out Gaucher had a higher PPG pace last year than this past one.

The season was different in 2020-21 with the QMJHL playing in "bubbles" without much travel and only 30 games.

Last season he played with James Malatesta who went 25 games without scoring and it hurt Gaucher's PPG a lot. Chances were created but Malatesta just couldn't find the back of the net somehow. During that time, Gaucher had 12 goals and 2 assists. He was scoring regularly but when your linemate doesn't score, you don't get the assists. After that, Gaucher added 11 goals and 15 assists in 22 games while Malatesta scored 18 goals.

It wasn't about Gaucher playing badly, it was more about his linemate having a very unlucky stretch.

Very appreciated insights, thank you!

I understand he might not end up a surefire top6 player, but I like the pick more and more

I was a bit underwhelmed with him tbh. Felt like he was not doing anything offensively

He looked like he had the skillset of someone who would have been picked in the 4th round...but for a guy picked 22OA he looked really bad.
