So a point in every U20 game on the Czechs' 2nd line... thought a thread might be in order.

He was a huge surprise at the championship. Soft hands, great insight into the game, good play maker. It would be nice if a similar player, who did not go through the drafts, became an NHL player. But I would probably like that a lot...

After a rather pedestrian 6 points in 6 games to start the year, Melovsky is finally starting to put up some points in the QMJHL like you would want him to as an overager pick in the 2024 draft. He's 5 + 9 in his last 5 games. It's also refreshing to see him finally putting up some goals.

How was he not wroth a 7th or 6th round pick is beyond me.. he was unreal!
Not much of a shot and not a strong skater would be 2 reasons.

It's really questionable on how his game translates to the AHL, nevermind the NHL.

Remember he is an OA in the Q, so the phrase scorching really needs to be tempered.

7 point game last night.

I'd say he's doing very well. Agree about the rest. Overager in Quebec isn't exactly the greatest achievement and may lead to absolutely nothing. Time will tell. Curious how the AHL goes next year.

I get all of that but how often does an OA actually even make the NHL?

It's not very often and I can't really think of one off the top of my head.

Add the skating and shooting defincienes and next level defensive units aren't going to fin him very difficult.

Canuck fans were all excited about the OA signing of Arshdeep Bains who arguably was the better product in their respective OA years and he's still a tweener at 23 and probably never going to be an NHLer.

It’s worth mentioning they scored 14 goals last night, so everyone ate.

My team has a pick on that team. Only 1 point. That’s when I knew he was finished.

So he was involved in half his teams offense? You always try to low key insult Devils prospects. You aren't fooling anyone.

Remember your opinions on Yegorov moving to BU? He's got a .944% in 7 games.

I’m being biased against the Devils when I just said a Rangers prospect is finished because he only had 1 point in this game?

What hatred of the Devils!

Or almost like I’m giving some unbiased context to the great stats. Truly had no clue who drafted this guy until after I made my post, not that it should matter. Am I not allowed to comment because he plays for the Devils? And why would that be?

A team scoring 14 goals in a junior game is absurd. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen something like it. It’s a definite beware for every player who took place in the game. The players who scored a lot probably had their stats inflated. The players on the team that scored a lot that didn’t score much probably aren’t that good if they can’t score much in a 14 goal win, and on the opposite team you probably played some pathetic defense if your team lost by 14 goals.
