I'm sure Montreal tried for him, pretty much every team did. He just didn't have any interest in Montreal. It's a 2-way street, can't sign a guy that doesn't want to play for your team. He only seriously considered Nashville, Chicago and Detroit.

Finally got his first goal of his NA pro career.


Went on to score a goal in triple OT to help the Hogs sweep the Wolves. It was the longest game in either franchises history (Icehogs and Wolves).



He's supposedly struggled a bit after being sent back down to the AHL after the Hawks season was over, but he had easily his best game today. Had a couple other chances that just couldn't get over the line.
