Took a look around for a Ty Voit thread but couldn't find one. He's having a really strong year playing on a poor Sarnia Sting team. Has 90%+ primary points. On the smaller size but is playing really well without much support.

He should at least get an invite to camp. But the USA often make some weird roster moves with their WJC teams.

On occasion that happens but most of the time all the usual suspects are there. Voit will definitely get a camp invite and is a strong candidate for the final team.

I would say that is true-yes. The reality is the number of American CHL standouts each year is fairly low. The OHL is most represented, then the WHL, and lastly the Q which is almost non-existent. I might be wrong but it seems to me the overall American participation in the CHL has gone steadily down of late. Could be the rise of the USHL.

you’re absolutely spot on - the USHL is a legitimatly coveted hockey league by Americans and Canadians alike.

Little reason for American talents to go to Canada anymore because the USHL, and USDP is just as good an opprotunity to be seen as the CHL, if not better.

Surprised Voit isn't getting talked about more. Leading the OHL in scoring with 46 pts in 26 games now and is on pace for 120 pts.
