On pace for 100 points atm. Seems like a really good signing, unless he just puts up points and really sucks at the rest of the things?

But even if he is lacking elsewhere, really suprised no one used at least a late round pick on him.

This dude signs with Pitt and still 18 for 3 months, leading his team with 76 points in 54 GP. The next guy , a 21 yr old Estephan had a similar PPG before getting traded. The next guy after that on the team is top 2018 draft prospect defenceman Addison with 50 points.

17th in the league in PPG but also the youngest of that top 17, splitting hairs as Glass is only a month older.

How has he not gotten more coverage??

Yeah he was compared to Zablocki in an article I read, and he went 3rd round haha.

Guentzel - Crosby - Sprong
Hagelin - Malkin - Hornqvist
Bellerive - Brassard - Kessel
ZAR - Sheahan - Rust

f*** it..put him on the Pens next year. No juniors again..he cant go to ahl.

I was really mad the Canucks didnt take a flyer on him in the 7th, he was on par with Jost and Fabbro when I saw him play for Penticton as a 16 year old

Bellerive finished this year with 46 goals and 92 points, which isn't far below what the #6 pick Cody Glass produced this year (37 goals and 102 points). I believe he had more goals than any 2017 drafted player in juniors. This all begs the question, why didn't he get drafted? His stock has risen to the point where I think he'd probably go in the 2nd round in 2018, had he not signed with the Pens.

Tearing up the WHL playoffs as well. 8 goals and 15 points in 7 games.

Really excited about him as a prospect.

Shouldn't he have still been draft eligible? How was Pittsburgh able to sign him?

North American draft eligibles who fall through the draft are eligible to be signed between the conclusion of the draft, and the start of the NHL season (I think, could be the junior season) as free agents. A north american can fall through the draft twice before he's just declared a free agent.

I've got to watch him a large number of times over the years in Lethbridge.

A player that does it all. Outside of his obvious offensive skill, he is a leader and a grinder. He plays above his size and can be relied on in all situations.

He is a captain, penalty killer, even strength rock, pp star, etc, etc.

It is truly mind boggling how he didn't get drafted, and I said that on draft day, especially considering scouts and GMs usually love this type of player.

Sounds like a perfect winger for Crosby...

Who would you compare him to? If he reaches his potential that is.

Love him. Kind of reminds me of Kunitz with his well rounded game and being first to pucks.

Scary news coming out from the Lethbridge Hurricanes tonight.
Hoping everyone is ok and can make a full recovery.

I'd say his upside is 2nd line player with the potential to be a fringe 1st-liner. The Penguins is the perfect organization to break in because they aren't scared to put in relatively unknown prospects on any of their four lines if they think they can handle the rigour of the NHL.
Bellerive's stock rises exponentially if he can find himself eventually slotted beside Crosby or Malkin

I'm surprised more teams don't sign intriguing guys that get passed over on their first year of the draft, basically an extra pick in the draft if they can afford the roster space.
