Much safer pick for his size and skill set to translate than many of the numerous 5'10" - 5'11" prospects listed.

If he has a strong combine he will go #20-31. Centers that can wheel like him are the exact type of players playoff teams will use their 1st on.

Uhh, I wouldn't say size is a players lifeline anymore. Look around the league - those 5'10" etc players are taking over and dominating the league.

He’ll be a 10-15 goal guy in all likelihood, if you have 2 picks in the 2nd he worth grabbing with one of them.

90% of those sized players do a disappearing act in the more physical playoffs. I’m glad you’re not my teams’s gym. Size and speed with a small smattering of smaller skilled guys that can hold their own.

I don't know many teams that are searching for a defensive forward and penalty killer in the top two rounds but knock yourself out.
just asking have you ever heard of a guy named koivu? we also had a guy named haula that started out as a speedy defensive guy and he turned out pretty good 2!

Kids got Moxy. I think he goes 20-30

I suspect somewhere between 25 and 45. There is some question about his offense--that said on a stacked USNTDP team he did not get put into the best quality situations. He was like their 7th forward. I think he's a very safe pick and should play in the NHL for years though--for his size, excellent skating, physical play and defensive game and if his offense ever did come around he would be a real steal.

Can anyone see Johnny Beecher opting to go CHL route after being drafted or a team making him report to the Sault ?
