C Ivan Ryabkin - Muskegon Lumberjacks, USHL (2025 Draft)

"4+9 after 5 games at the Federal Districts Cup for U16 kids.

Demidov was 4+15 in 7 games at the same tournament, but he was 8 months younger. Michkov was 23+12 in 8 games..."

There it is. Glad I could help out.
I didn't quote that. I quoted him saying no one comes close to michkov which turned out to be false and that demidov and ryabkin are the same level, which is a terrible take also

They're discussing the Federal Districts Cup for U16 kids if you go back and read the posts around the one you pulled out. The quote makes sense based on their stats at the same tournament, but obviously looks terrible out of context.

I have no idea where to even watch the Districts Cup U16 matches. Grateful to have posters like Kshahdoo to give some insight.

I wouldn't mind Flyers selecting him very late and taking a chance. If successful a good fit with Mich. But... He seems to have been someone who grew early on and already have some decent weight on him. His numbers from the USHL doesn't scream anything special. Could be a Podkolzin lite, meaning early developed physically and somewhat difficult to predict.

Podkolzin and Ryabkin were both bulls, so part of the comparison is valid. But Ryabkin is a much higher skilled player. His high skill is generally the first thing any scout or draft analyst talks about regarding him. For Podkolzin, his standout trait was always his hustle and strength, and was regarded as a lower skill player relative to his draft position.
