The next Kirill Kabanov?

From an interview with Slava Kozlov, currently the assistant coach of Dynamo.

I had a conversation with Ryabkin back when he was sent down to juniors.
I said to him "How do you expect to be drafted if you don't play?" He replied "I'd rather sit here than in juniors." To which I replied "You're sitting here because you're not yet suitable (for the KHL), and there because you're not fulfilling the coaches requirements. In order to be drafted you have to be seen. It doesn't matter where you play, the MHL or VHL, you have to produce results. Nobody is going to draft you based on your past performances."

Вячеслав Козлов о Рябкине: «Он не готов к КХЛ – не только мое мнение, но всех тренеров. По скорости пока не успевает. Он сказал: «Я лучше здесь буду сидеть, чем в молодежке»

Ivan, at his best, is really a great player. In my opinion, he’s one of the best playmakers in the draft. Some of the plays he is able to create are outstanding. He is one of the few players in this draft that has the ability to truly drive offense. It’s a shame that his season has gone so poorly.

He has the talent to be an NHL player but it’s difficult to say you would risk a high pick on him at this point given all that has happened. I am holding out hope that he will come to NA and we can see what he’s capable of doing.

NHL teams are not gonna like this blurb. wonder if he falls and flyers can grab him with their 2nd 1st rd pick. But this is pretty bad....the quote just screams ego. Hopefully he matures because the raw skill is there.

I mean Demidov was ok to play in the MHL, and Ryabkin isn't, and this given Demidov is at the very least not worse than Ryabkin talent wise, and I'd say Demidov is more naturally gifted. Add to this working ethic, and the difference is even more glaring.
