This year he is mostly Ak Bars' 3rd center comparing to being a first line center in the previous season, so the stats are expected to go down. Contract is through 2024/25.

Last season the Ak Bars' top line was based on the Safonov and Voronkov chemistry blended with Radulov's skill. Voronkov is gone to NA, so the chemistry is gone and without him it didn't exactly work, so Safonov was moved to the 3rd line.
