Bystedt looks really good in the AHL so far. 3 points in two games this weekend, huge minutes on the PK, strong defensively, good on faceoffs, big and skates well. His offensive game seems very translatable to the NHL as well, in that he doesn't depend on crazy dangles or mistakes from the opposition to create chances. I say this in a positive way, he seems like he has perfectly average NHL offensive ability. If he maintains his play over this season, I think he's well on track to be a good 3C, which is exactly what the Sharks need behind Celebrini and Smith.
I would like to see him play the whole season in the AHL, and then shoot for the 4C job with the Sharks next fall. He plays a surprisingly NHL-style game for a guy developed completely in a European system.
