C David Lewandowski - Düsseldorfer EG, Germany U17 (2025 Draft)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Son of former Phoenix Coyotes draft pick Eduard Lewandowski who was a long time national team player and who is still playing in the German system today at 42.
David is a very talented centre who has some really good tools. He is the type of kid who makes those around him better and has great vision finding teammates (as shown off below). I would like to see him improve on his skating but he is apart of the very promising 2007 born German crop.

Hard to see Lewandowski leave Barca after one year /s

He looks quite mature. Impressive skating in that clip.

Figured I'd update this thread since David Lewandowski today signed with the Saskatoon Blades of the WHL.

Anybody seen him play for Saskatoon.
Interested to see his performance. Bit unlucky he joined the team late.

Yes, but when you only have 15 points in 20 junior games it might be why he’s a late round pick, at best.
He's 17. That's quite normal for most players at that point in their careers. I don't think he's a first rounder but i think he would be an interesting player in the middle rounds and let him develop and gain strength.

I can see him going 3rd round. I am having a hard time coming up with an NHL comparison but I'll keep thinking about it.

He might look ugly but he's been able to get in on the forecheck and turnover pucks, he's then especially good at protecting the puck and making small area plays. If he can improve the skating and shot there could be a steal.
