So who in the top 10 slides out if you put Zary there?

I mean Drysdale and Rossi are already at 11 and 12, this years top 10 is just extremely good and will be hard to crack.

I like Zary a lot but for someone to say that he is lock for top 10 is recency bias right now.

But who knows maybe he is the guy who is the big riser this year.

I think Askarov is the one who will slip. Being a goalie and with so many good players at the top end of the draft I think some teams are going to find it hard to justify taking a goalie early. He'll probably get snagged in the top 15. It will all come down to a team who is desperate for a good goalie prospect.

Asharov is the obvious choice but that still makes a really clear top 11 position players.

Zary is hot right now and a great prospect but there are probably 20 guys in play for spots 11-20 in this years draft and I think he is making a strong push to be in that group, perhaps near the top 11-15 range.

I think he might be the most underrated prospect in this draft so far.

Either Zary or Mysak. If Zary can keep this level of production for the full season I think it would be hard to justify him being selected outside the top 10. Though, as someone above alluded to it seems that this year's draft I'd pretty deep so there should be some good players left into the teens.

Eventually all the rankings sites will wake up and have him in their top 10 but it could take until the TPG just like it did with PLD. Zary isn't as physically imposing as PLD is but they play a very similar style of play. The really confusing part with them is they almost all have Holloway ranked top 10 or close to it when Zary has always outperformed him and is the better player. Zary had his point streak snapped at 13 games but picked right back up with 5 goals in the past 3 games including 2 goals tonight. Only 1 game this year without a point and he brings his A game night after night. Not only a great 200 foot player but averaging around 5 shots a game. Hopefully he doesn't get buried on the 4th line in the WHL vs Russia games but I suspect he will. Mercer was a similar under the radar player until he showed out at the Q vs Russia games

Central Scouting has moved him up to an A Prospect About time. He has been a monster so far, as has been the rest of the team.

Given how he is only a few months younger than last years crop of Cozens, Krebs and Dach, how do people think he stacks up against them?
Would you take him over any of these 3 if they were in the same class?

ISS Hockey has him ranked at #8
I had him 9th on my preliminarily 2020 list, as @Frk It said he easily one of the most underrated lads for this draft.

He's as talented as all of them for me. Personally I like him more than all three of them, but it also depends on how much Dach becomes as good as some people think he is here. I don't see it, but he definitely has the potential to be a #1 centre.

Good insights. It's funny...

Dach out of the Bantam draft and I'd probably say, not a chance Zary is in his league, but if we're looking at their draft years 2 months in, I like Dach just a little bit more--and I wouldn't have thought it would be this close. It would be interesting to track where each was from this point in the season. Without looking I feel like Dach had a slightly hotter start and it'll be close in terms of putting up points, but I wouldn't be surprised if Zary was ahead.

I live in Kamloops and have seen him play almost every game (I have season tickets). I had him in my top 10 for the past year and have been laughed at. The kid is the real deal. Plays a 200 ft game, amazing skater, excellent shot, and great playmaker ability. Such a complete player and a joy to watch.

Agreed and I am not trying to downgrade Zary here because as I mentioned I quite like him, but him versus Dach has more to do with Kirby falling than Connor being a superior prospect. I mean, I think Zary is going to be fantastic, but Dach's potential is in another level and it will be interesting to see if he can ever hit it because there are some engagement issues with him. That could potentially make him turn into Ryan Johansen instead of someone better.

Yup and the ranking sites are slowly getting the clue he's a top 10 talent. Some still think he lacks high end skill which I'm not sure how someone can say if they've watched him. Reasonable expectations for me is he becomes a Dubois/Horvat type player

I have heard the narrative that he lacks top end skill and is probably a 2C in the NHL, but his highlights sure make it seem like he has high-end skill.
