Can any IceDogs fans comment on his overall game? Do you see him translating some offense to the pros?

He's holding his pace, still see him finished at about 1.5 points per game, trying to be cautiously optimistic.

Any updates on his D game?

Hes no defensive stalwart for sure, but thats not his role on the dogs. he hustles and has a good motor, decently active stick that breaks up plays, but is not a hitter. not soft, but his defensive game amounts to good positioning due to a strong hockey iq. Wont be winning any selkes but he certainly is no liability on the ice.

The offense icthink will translate to the nhl to the tune of a 35 point floor to a 60 point ceiling but i can see him taking a while to be a regular in the nhl by being outmatched by nhl centres in terms of backchecking and defensive effort. like i said hes not a liability but his focus is not defense. nor should it he imo, hes an offensive threat not a defensive third or fourth liner.

I find that surprising. I thought his draft profiles had him as a 2-way guy not a scorer.

He's sitting at 1.65 points per game, still producing.

His offence has been sliding. Anyone who watches him have any in sight on why?

ya team stinks and are rebuilding, won't be shocked to see him possibly dealt.

Stinks is an understatement. They are dead last in the OHL, tied with Belleville. Every other team has double digits in wins. They're just an awful team lol.

He could get traded. Depends on how long the Ice Dogs think they'll be bad for. He could be a pretty nice veteran presence to have next year.

It's not just his offense -- Niagara just hasn't been scoring. Probably because he and Perlini are literally their entire offense.

Not only are they literally the entire offense (although DeFruscia is doing decently enough) they are the only two players on the entire team who are plus players.

Mike Robinson was a plus player but the Ice Dogs released him, and Billy Jenkins is only a plus player because of his time on the Frontenacs.

Decent prospect. Voted top 3 for smartest player and best faceoff man in his respective league.

Still, I don't see him accomplishing more than, say, a Greg Mckegg.

Smart player, very well rounded game, Jack of all type... Needs to improve skating and strength to have NHL potential. I think he'll make it.

He was 3rd in the OHL coaches poll two years in a row for "Smartest Player", plus has a pretty good offensive skillset.

Skating is an issue, but other than that he's a versatile skilled player who could fill multiple types of roles depending on how well his offence translates. I think he's likely the best piece Toronto gave up in this trade.

A couple of years in the AHL bringing him along slowly should do him well.

Wins the AHL scoring title in his Age 23 season.

Now has 129 points over his last 133 AHL games as a 22 and 23 year old.

Perhaps Tampa Bay has a late bloomer?

Maybe Tampa/Syracuse fan can give insight to his defensive game and maybe his carves out a role in Tampa’s bottom 6?
