Is someone able to provide a decent scouting report on Nadeau? Basically the Second highest score in the draft
Elite shot, good vision, one of those players that seems to always find the soft spots in another teams defense, always around the net, sees the ice really well. He's a goal scorer first and foremost. If he was a better skater, he'd probably be a first rounder. Has a choppy stride, not great edgework, but has some speed, not a burner though

He's not the type of player who will jump out at you when watching him like Newhook was in the BCHL. He's the type of player the puck always seems to find and he's in the right spot all the time in the offensive end. Before you know it he has 2 goals, 2 assists and it's kind of like holy shit how is he there every time

Is the BCHL on a lower ‘tier’ than the W, O and the Q? I’m surprised there’s not a lot of ‘talk’ out there. Different rankings on EP show him has a second-third round player.

I mean, if I were apart of a scouting staff, I would go for high scoring players even if they were in lower levels

The offensive tools and IQ are great. He has a strong delay game, paired with an elite release. He's really good at manipulating shot angles and generating power by dragging the puck into his skates as he shoots. His one-timer is also high end. He's a legit finisher at any level

Nadeau doesn't have game breaking speed and he's undersized, but neither of those things are major concerns. The shot and IQ are what will take him to the NHL. If he hits he's going to be a finisher on a scoring line and PP specialist

The major issue I have with Nadeau is that he essentially plays on a junior 'A' all star team, in a league that isn't as competitive as it usually is. He played with elite linemates all season. Penticton finished 50-3-1 on the year with a +208 goal differential. You can read into that two ways though. It's both a positive and a negative. He's a bit of a mystery. He'd be on my list of most intriguing draft prospects, but an early second for me right now

The weird thing is that I both love and hate just how good the Vees were this past season and it was basically a single line just DESTROYING the rest of the league.

Honestly I can't recall just how dominant this line was last year.

the only other real comparable for me.....is I dunno some Brandon Wheat King lines in the 70s but man it still wasn't anything like this.

It was the 77-78 Wheat kings, Derlago didn't make it all 3 guys were at the top but Billy missed games and was 3 and 2 points behind the guys ahead of him who played 14 and 20 more games than him.

What I had forgotten or never really remembered was that Dave Semenko is his last season of junior before joining the WHA Oilers had a line of 7-10-5-15 with the Wheat Kings that year.

It's a whole tier lower.

17 year old.

30 career play-offs games; 28 goals, 54 points, that's almost 2.00 ppg.
#clutch

about 5 more points in these play-offs and he'll hit 150 point mark this season.
Vees win 4-1 the series.
