Really wish we picked Catton over Yakemchuk.
For the Sens? Really? I love Catton but Yakemchuk is going to be perfect in Ottawa. He'll end up a 20g, 60-point defenseman who pulls the fans out of their seats. Demidov, Yakemchuk, Catton an Hutson were my favorite players from the 24 draft... with Iggy, Buium, and Parekh up there too.

Yakemchuk has only marginally been better than last season and I think the Sens need another gamebreaking forward.

Catton is 16-18-34 in 13 games after Cristall arrived while Cristall is 9-26-35 in those games. Cristall overall getting more points per game, but is getting less goals so far. While Catton have exploded in goalscoring with 16 in 13 games which is more than the 14 he had the first 28 games. Van Olm also with 14 goals in 13 games after Cristall arrived.

In Kelowna Cristall had to score himself, but here he can do more of a playmaking role which suits his game more and Catton with another playmaker get the chance to shoot more while he had to create most of the offence. While i see Van Olm as more of a goalscorer with a good shot and not a guy driving a line in the same way Catton and Cristall are able to.

Van Olm basically scored a scholarship just by being on that line.

Good point as both Cristall and Catton were the primary offensive threat on their respective teams, and now they can play off each each other and you can see the results.

Was comfortable taking him at 2 (wanted us too) and would be really happy with his season if we had taken him there. Wasn't sure he could top last season but he's already shown he can.

I concur, but I meant it in the sense that every one I've seen Pavel post this far has that exact same percentile at 2 (McKenna, Dupont, Villeneuve), which seems highly unlikely.

Possible that it's an approach that's used more broadly but the statistic needed for the CHL either doesn't exist or is incorporated incorrectly.

I don't have access to the full charts either. PuckPreps posted those few charts on twitter. I took it from there.

Thanks. I took a look at their twitter page and noted five other profiles presented in February beyond the four you've posted, and 8 out of the 9 have the same score of 2, while the other one was at 5. Interestingly, it has next to no apparent impact on their overall defensive ratings.

I mention this purely because when I spotted Catton's rating, it made it look like his team is bleeding xG chances compared to the norm (which didn't seem right), but I'm now thinking they made an error in their presentation or calculation as per Bear.
